I wanted to know if their is remedies to get rid of runny noses. I am going to school tomarrow and I don't want to be dealing with that it gets in my way to have to blow my nose all the time. I have been getting plenty of sleep and also taking my medicine it's been four days now. My sore throat is gone which I am grateful to the people here on mylot who suggested me wonderful remedies that worked. I also feel better all that is left is my runny nose anybody know how to get rid of that???

An antihistamine could dry it up for a while. If you're not going to be anywhere, though, just let it run. A runny nose is the body's way of getting whatever pathogen you have out of your system. It'll clear up on it's own.

there are lots of over the counter remedies that will dry you up but dont use them too much because believe it or not, by the nose running, it is getting rid of the germs that are plagueing you!

Oh I actually didn't know that runny noses get rid of the germs that are in me. I thought that runny noses were just their because someone is sick and that's it. I never actually knew that in a way it is helping me. Thanks for the info, I learn something new everyday how cool.

if its actually a viral thing, the best thing you can do is ride it out and drink plenty of fluids (don't forget tissues to blow once in a while) they don't recommend using antibiotics because it really does not help and will ultimately affect your tolerance to antibiotics and when a real bacterial infection hits you might become immune to over the counter meds because you already have a high tolerance for it.
