Do you ever buy things you don't really need to get a freebie?

Ulta is having their free makeup bag filled with makeup with a $17.50 purchase. I love these bags and the free make up so I bought some make up yesterday. I bought some mascara which I don't need at the moment but I will eventually use it, and some nail polish that I thought my daughter would like too, some eye shadow, which I will use, but truth be told I didn't really need any of it, but I wanted the freebie, so have you ever bought something pretty much for a freebie that comes with the purchase?

it depends, like if i really need the item then ill go for it. but if i think that i will not be needing it even though theirs freebies then no thanks. sometime promo they add the amount of the freebies into the item so it will look like theres really a freebies but the fact is theres none. for example, the original price of the item is $100 and the freebies is $10. the tag of the item will be $110 cost plus the freebies. some consumer didnt realize it. some item are near to its expiry thts why they offer freebies so they sold out all the item than lose a lot of profit if it will just become spoiled. i know these things coz i used to work in the store before. they will pullout the item near expiry and sit aside then after a month they will return it back to market with freebies. same thing with other item. they will pull out the item so tht people will not be aware of the original price then after few months they will return it to the market with freebies.

I have done this before too. I think it's all right to do that every once in a while because you will still use the items you bought and you get some freebies out of it as well. Our grocery store always gives freebies if you buy certain things. Sometimes I don't need those things, but I buy it anyway because of the freebie that is being offered.

I have to discipline myself when it comes to buying things. I do have a tendency of buying things that I don't need and things that I already have and haven't used but buy another to have when that one is used up. I now stop think and tell myself no don't buy that use the one you have. I don't necessarily buy things just to get the freebies.

Usually, I don't buy things unless I have to. If it comes with something free, then thats just a bonus for me. I try not to buy something to get something free. If I didn't really need it, then I'm out of money that I would have been saving. If I get something out of the deal, when I planned on purchasing something to begin with, then it just works out for me.

I won't buy for the freebies but I will buy because there is freebies. There was this promotion for a contact lens solution which has 3 bottles, 2 of them is same size and one is smaller (those travel pack bottle) selling @ $25. And just a few stores away, another stores sells 3 bottles of the same size for $25! Definitely, I will make the effort to go to buy 3 bottles of the same size so I can have extra amount of that solution since I am paying the same price.

I've done that before. Especially during the holidays when so many products will offer a free gift with purchase. Sometimes it will be the deciding factor between two different brands. I remember once I decided which perfume to buy by which brand had the best free item. I bought the one that came with a free golf umbrella. I ended up getting sick of the perfume before it was gone, but I still have the umbrella!
