Does your cat crave milk?

My poor 'Little Buddy' girl cat (named by my daughter) gets an upset tummy if she has dairy and it's hard to keep her away from dairy cause my older cat craves milk. He's older and his digestive system is bad, but milk doesn't seem to bother him. I'm guessing he gets heart burn or something. I crave milk when I get heart burn, so I'm guessing he does too. None of my other cats can have milk without getting sick. I was wondering if other people have cats that crave milk.

Hi beauty, I have a male and a female cat, my female won't drink milk at all and my male cat just loves it, everythime I making a drink for myself and bring the milk out, he would stand on his little hind legs and wave his paws to ask for milk too, he just won't stop till I have him a bowl of milk. Who could say no to such a sweetheart! My 'babies' do that kind of stuff all the time. My 'Little Buddy' female cat raised my Orange cat (as her own kitten) and taught him the not so subtle art of begging and standing on his hind legs to get what he wants. It's tough saying no when they're so cute and do funny things.

I don't give Moomin milk, he usually steals it LOL It's not too bad as long as he doesn't have too much of it but the last time he guzzled a bowl of milk he was sick all over the kitchen floor - yuck

Poor baby! So sorry to hear about your little man getting sick. My cat gets that way too if I let him have the least bit of milk. I wish there were some happy middle ground where he could just have a little.

Hiya beautyqueen. I don't have any cats now, but one of my mother-in-law's cat's loved milk! She'd go crazy over it whenever she'd hear the word. LOL My mother-in-law didn't want her or any of her other cats to have milk as she had heard that cats are lactose intolerant, but my husband and I would sneak this cat some every now and then anyway as we knew how much she (the cat) liked it. Boy, was that a long time ago. Happy mylotting!

get them the milk for lactose intolerant people-that's usually what makes the cats sick..they can't always digest bovine milk too well. oh yea..my cats crave milk..once in a blue moon i let them have it.but not too much, because i don't want them getting ill from it.

Good point. We have to watch out after our cats, cause they can't do it for themselves. Thanks for your helpful comments.

My cat use to like milk sometimes, but lately he rarely drinks it, its wired because when he sees me poor milk into my cereal he meows like he wants some but when I give it to him he dosent want to drink it. I cant figure him out he is one of the strangest cats I ever had so far but I love him a lot.

He sounds like one of my wacky fun cats. Last night, I was eating something (can't remember what, it was late and I was tired) and the cat kept begging for some, so I dealt some out and he totally turned up his nose. Wonder what he thought I was eating. Obviously was a big disappointment for him.

I've had cats that would drink milk. Some were fine, others had an algery to it and couldn't stand it. Yet it never stopped them from wanting to go back for more. Milk is okay in small ammounts and some cats can handle it. Others not so much. Cats love milk (at least most do) Though I've got one cat that does like it, and one that doesn't. Interesting....

I don´t think cow´s milk is supposed to be very good for cats. Mine will quite happilly drink it out of a discarded cereal bowl if they think they can get away with it, but I never offer it to them. When they need a drink, they have water available to them.

My oldest cat has never cared for milk, she won't touch it. My youngest cat waits for me to finish my cereal in the morning, he knows I will always leave him a small amount. Sometimes he does get inpatient, and tries to get it while I am still eating my cereal.
