I have a rabbit and he has been with us for just 2 months. He's so big now and eats a lot. He doesn't seem lonely and he has funny antics. I am now thinking of buying a partner for him but we cannot raise lots of rabbits. Do you think rabbit can be raised solo or will they die because of loneliness?

We have 2 male neutered rabbits. They DO NOT get along. My books I have read say that rabbits do not need companions. hope this helps.

You should have him neutered and adopt a friend for him from an animal shelter or rescue group. A rescue group can often help you introduce a compatible friend.

rabbits should be kept in pairs. he won't die of loneliness by himself but chances are he will feel very lonely. i think you should get him a companion, but make sure either that it is another boy and/or both are neutered otherwise you will end up with lots of rabbits. actually rabbits should be neutered anyway - they will live longer, be happier and be easier pets. if you don't get a companion for your rabbit then you should give him lots of attention yourself.
