Today I received in the mail a movie that I ordered from Amazon.com called 2081. The movie is based on the short novel by Kurt Vonnegut, Harrison Bergeron. For a movie that is only 25 minutes long it was worth the $13 I spent. Just to give you the premise I will copy what is on the back of the DVD(no blue rays that I could find), 2081 depicts a dystopian future in which, thanks to the 212th Amendment to the Constitution and the unceasing vigilance of the United States Handicapper General, everyone is finally equal. The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. I would suggest to you this movie. Sorry to say I doubt you are going to find this movie at the movie rental house but maybe. If you are interested here is the website, http://www.finallyequal.com/

I couldn't make much sense of the trailer, it's so choppy and doesn't tell me much. But it certainly looks interesting and while I can't afford to buy the movie I will certainly read the short story! I much prefer reading, anyway. I read about it on Wikipedia and it sounds like a fascinating tale that is also heartbreaking and maddening. Thanks for telling us about this!

There is a little difference between the movie and the book, as which seem to be the case with every book to movie, but close enough to get the point.
