I saw Jim Carrey starring in Yes Man. It's sad to think of what has happened to Carrey's career...when was the last time he made a good movie? This one was pretty darn boring...

The trouble with “Yes Man” is not that Jim Carrey puts in a bad performance but the concept for the movie sucks. It’s just repetitive and there are only so many times you can watch Carrey saying Yes to some extreme situation before it becomes monotonous and unfunny. It ends up spoiling the actual message of the movie because of all the repetitive tedium. Personally I would have to go back to 1999 to “Man on the Moon” for the last time I really enjoyed a Jim Carrey movie.

I must say, whilst I respect your opinion teamrose, I have to strongly disagree with it personally I thoroughly enjoyed Yes Man, and have seen it countless times. It is an uplifting tale about your ordinary slacker who just lets life pass him by. Yes, some parts are obviously far-fetched (for example, preventing the man from killing himself by playing him the guitar?), but overall it is a very positive movie that I found really enjoyable. It shows me that Jim Carrey can play something other than the hyper-active wacky guy who makes all kinds of odd facial expressions (even though we all secretly love that side to him), and can play a mature, sensitive role whilst still being humourous.
