They said that the best way to fight depression is laughter. If you laugh your immuno globulin A level is up that will boost your immune system. They advice that we should learn to laugh for no reason, as it's not happiness that makes us laugh, it's laughing that makes us happy. What do you think?

It won't make me feel good to laugh like crazy - I'll feel stupid. When I'm depressed I don't smile often, I don't see reasons to do it. Laugh can increase the levels of immunoglobulin A, but if the depression was only that it would be very easy to be fixed with little medicines. I think the best medicine is to learn to be positive. To think positive in our daily life. Then we'll also find more reasons to smile and to laugh.

I don't believe that taking medications will cure depression, sometimes it will only get worse, it's just a step towards finding a cure. It's always best to have an emotional support from our family and friends and yeah being positive. For me it doesn't make me feel stupid laughing like crazy because it does makes me feel better and makes me able to think positively. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Yes...I do that all the time...just laugh at no particular reason. Whenever I'm am really pissed...I struggle to smile because smiling or laughing is hard to do when you are angry. I realized that if I do that my negative moods will improved and my anger begun to lessened. Actually it's the best medicine.

Yeah, I also experienced the same thing, every time I'm caught in an unfortunate situations that ruin my expectations or when someone really is get on my nerves, I tried to play the whole situation into my mind in a reserve way, in that way it makes me laugh and smile, thus makes me feel better, or I hummed my favorite song. It always makes me feel better. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I do believe in what you have said but it is pretty hard to laugh in the depression. For instance I am not mentally and physically well. And I find it hard to smile and sometimes I think that I have lost my smile. I don't know how can I make my self laugh in these hard times.

It could be hard to laugh when we're depressed, it could be difficult to laugh when we experienced troubles and pain and it could tough to laugh and even to smile when everything in our life is a messed, however it's not impossible to learn to laugh if we want to, if we want to fight and strive hard to find beauty on every unfortunate situations we will able to laugh. They said that you will able to laugh if you change your focus as it will change your emotions. Like when feel bad and you watched hilarious movies, you will end up laughing. Try to look around and forget your troubles even for awhile, recall happy and funny moments you've encounter in the past and makes other happy. In that way, you will learn to laugh despite of pain you feel. Happiness is a choice not a chance. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

I have not been told by the doctor that I have depression. I know I have and I know the source of the depression. I refuse to take any medication for it because it would not be the true happiness. I have friends around who are helping me to make me laugh. With every day that passes, it is getting easier for me. It has taken a long time, to get where I am. But I always feel good with laughing.

You've done a great choice for not taking any medications. And you're lucky that you have good friends to makes you laugh, support and look after you. That's what you need and that's what makes you truly happy. In life we need good and happy people to accompany with us as we journey our life in this troubled world. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

It's just a natural feelings, we can't help there are those times when we're drown with loneliness and sadness, but what matter is you never give up on life and you strive hard to live life and be happy. It's nice that you make your child as your inspiration. That's a good thing, we should always think about those people surround us before giving up, because they love us and they only want what makes us happy. Anyway thank you for sharing with us and enjoy your day!

Laughter is the best medicine, so they say. I am not sure whether this sentence really holds true but one thing I'm sure is that when you laugh, you can't have depression at the same time. It's one thing or another. Come to think of it, why do we have to wallow in sorrow or depression when it doesn't help us in any way? Why can't we just laugh it off and then get off our butts and do something about it? That will be much more productive.

Hey careguarden! You are so very right! Laugher is the best medicine as we have always been told! And it is true! When we laugh endorphins are released into our brain and that makes us happy! And the happier we are the healthier we are! I have beem diagnosed with major depressive disorder and I know that sometimes I can't help the way that I feel. I take medication to try and "fix" the chemical imbalance in my brain. But, I try to find other ways to help myself too! I try to be around people that make me happy and do things that make me feel better! It's now always easy, but it is worth trying to laugh as much as possible!

I think laughter does fight depression. I think that when we laugh for no reason its because we remembered something in our mind that made us laugh. I for myself cant laugh for no reason I don't know about the rest of the people!! When I do laugh its because someone is making me laugh or when i think of some funny thoughts!!! But I'm a happy person and I love laughing. I love funny people, I think its a gift to have to be able to make somebody else laugh.

It's real when we said that laughter is the best medicine! Laughter can heal all wounds, I'm talking about internal wounds created by depression or any problems a person has encountered.
