Do your discussions actually get... discussed?

What I mean by this is, is that do your questions and discussions that you attempt to start actually get in depth responses? It seems that a lot of people don't tend to give much thought to their responses. And with discussions 'disappearing' from the myLot news feeds pretty quickly, it's rare to see a discussion with more than 12 or so posts, so it would be very hard for a discussion to actually get good answers with multiple well argued perspectives from just 12 posts (esp. when they're mostly one or two liners). How many posts do your discussions tend to get? Why do you think this is? Discuss guys! Suggestions to fix this?

It's true! I see so many topics and discussions that are just not open ended enough to start and thus can't really get anywhere besides a quick two word response and a 'thanks, happy mylotting' Good input man! I'm sure it's just coincidence that your posts are usually the last :p it wasn't here! There are some good discussions, but they just don't come as often as you'd like.

I see by your post count you are very new to mylot. When I was new it seemed like I was lucky to get 5 responses. But once I added friends, my discussions got more and more replies. There are many discussions that get over 40 responses, but a lot of those discussions are by people who have been here longer, and have added friends to their list. You'll get more, don't worry! I read one of your discussions earlier because you are on my friend list. But I didn't have anything to add to it. But when you post one I know I can respond to with a good reply, you can count on me replying to it. : )

Haha yay! Thanks man! Yea I am only a few days old to myLot. I just feel this way because I haven't really encountered any large discussions yet that weren't mostly enlarged by small, near pointless posts. I'm actually pretty happy that I'm getting as many posts as I do with my discussions so far, especially because they're mostly good quality posts, but I'd like more. Thanks for your reply man and I'll be sure to give yours a reply when they pop up for me too!

It depends upon the topic. When my topic is interesting and easy to relate by responders, I will get lots of responses but if they can't relate to it, only my close friend here will respond. I just appreciate some of my friends here because they will really make an effort to find ideas or input to my topic. I think, if the topic is interesting and easy to relate to, you can get lots of responses, and if you have lots of friends, they can make your topic be discussed. My suggestion? Let us find interesting topic that everybody can relate to.

I think it is so hard to get to every discussion on here. I usually start with top discussions and just go to the ones I think are interesting. Yes some of my discussions do not get a lot of responses. The last time I checked I had one that had 10. I also look at home page check out what friends have started. Then I hit a few interests. Or if I have a question I may look at that interest and either start a discussion or see if someone has already talked about it. I hope I am giving good responses to other people's discussion as I feel they are giving a good response to mine. I like to write maybe some people can sum it up better in a few short words. I can't really think of any suggestions to fix it. Sorry about that I don't really have any complaints even when I don't get a response. I think it's like rolling the dice you don't know what you are going to get. Great question.

Hi there brotha... Well somehow, Yes... Mostly, some of the discussions that I have started has plenty of responses and we share up our ideas and views so I guess the discussions are discussed. Just keep in mind that a Catchy title would attract more respondents. xD

Well everything depends, some of my discussions can have really around 15-19 responses, some of them are really well though, you can tell that the person really though about the issues, but other ones are just only a couple of lines long, on the other hand I have had discussions that only get 2 or 3 comments, I think in order to have a lot of post in your discussion, you need to post about a subject that will be a little bit polemic, that gives place to a lot of debates, but also the subject has to be attractive to other people.

Personally I think it is a situation that often depends on the time you start a discussion as to what type of discussion you are choosing to start, and the Topic involved as well. I know many times the more interesting your topic and the more friends you might have here as well could mean the better responses you might receive back as well. As long as you are sticking to the TOS here your discussion should have a good chance at lasting here as well. All I can say is experiment a little, and post new discussions here at different times of the day on different types of subjects and see what happens as well. It can be interesting but worth doing for sure. Wishing you the Best.

brotha hi yes I think most of my discussions do get in depth answers as I tend to get from thirty to 60 to 100 answers to my discussions. I am mostly satisfied with the responses I get,oh a few are just one lines but a lot are well thought out responses. I think because I have a lot of friends as I have been here for awhile I tend to get a few more answers. I also tend to make a comment to those who only answer in two or three words, like is that all you have to say about this? I am disappointed.

As far as I am concerned, I think my discussions are usually dicussed by mylotters. They just talk a lot in mylot. But some of my posts are just discussed by few of my friends. At this moment,I will be very upset to see this. I just that the better post can be discussed fiercely here.Have a nice day.

I'd like to share this to other members here... I used to start discussions and post replies in topics like "online earnings" or "make extra income". I noticed majority of the people there are just "income minded" and are posting less quality responses, just to elevate the number of posts. So I moved on. I found that the discussions in the topics like "technology" and "computers" more substantial... I mean people there are more willing to help solve problems of other members. I also noticed there are only few deletion of topics in those categories compared to other categories..

Responding to a discussion is based on my interest and time I have. I go by interest first and do not spend much time to find the discussions I have not responded and belong to my interest. Sometimes I also feel disappointed when my discussion do not get much response, it may be that the discussion was not good enough or interesting for many peoples but I started the discussion with the mindset that it is a good topic to know the opinions and should get responses from friends. I do not start discussions very often. Happy Mylotting :)

Well it really depends on how much responses my discussions get. The highest one would have to be 100 responses or so somewhere around their. When posting discussions I mainly just ask questions that I need answering and a lot of people give me in depth responses which I really like and I also like to respond back because I want to tell them about their opinion that they gave me and thank them for that. People respond usually to the discussions that catches their eye. Like your discussion it really caught my eye and peaked my interest. Anyways happy mylotting keep up with the cool discussions.

You got 100 responses? That might be a record! :P Thanks for posting! I just tend to ask questions that I'm curious about and I think finding an answer would benefit the mylot community and/or myself. I usually leave them open ended so that people can feel free to add their own unique perspective. In my discussion here I'm not specifically referring to mine (although some of them face this problem), but there are TONS of discussions on mylot that fade away after just a couple posts.

I think that's the key for your discussions to get "discussed." YOur topic is also catchy and some people knows about it. I think that you should post and reply to the things that you like most and interest you. i hope that you would be able to get the hang of it. Not all my discussions get discussed, be inspired with it. Think of a more convincing and tactical way of posting. Quality and Quantity is very important if you want to earn. Enjoy!

It does happen with me also infact I did start 2 discussions and gave it a lot of thought before penning it down but I got just 2 responses for the first one and no response for the scond so now I have made up my mind that I would not start a discussion atleast for some time and just respond to good discussions. Not everyone is here to give advice and there are lot of people here just for the money so can't expect anything more.

There are some of my post who does not have many responses, and there are some who have many. For the discussions to be responded, it should have the concern of the writers here in my lot. Something that they are curios with and the best one is that you have to post discussions that you think it is a general knowledge or everyone have an idea. There are sayings that said that "we cannot tell what we don't know", therefore, we should post what we think most of he mylotters have known.
