What food supplements do you take?

Food supplements are very common today especially here in my country. They are necessary because they are a lot of junk foods these days and we cant seem to get the proper nutrition that we need to have. Food supplements are good ways to get the essential nutrients that we need to stay healthy. Do you take food supplements? Do you think they are necessary? Why do you need to take them?

i take protein powder as supplement as our diet does not fulfil daily requirement of protein.it hepls in keeping me brisk and keeps my diabetes in check.moreover it aids in relieving body or joint pain and gives energy to keep u going on.

try amway protein powder.its neutral in taste though the primary ingredient is soya.can be mixed with any other food too and its nutritive value is not altered.

yes its neccessary to compensate on food deficiency in the body.....Extra vitamines or nutrients can be used in the form of supplements.

Speaking of some nutrients deficiency in the body, I have one friend who's having a lot of sore in his mouth and the doctor said that it is due to some deficiencies he have with some essential nutrients. I forgot what the condition was cold but he was advised to get some nutrients from supplements and eat the balanced diet. Most of the time, the illnesses that we have are due to the things that we put and dont out inside our mouth that's why we really need to be wise when it comes to our health.

Yes,I do think it becomes more necessary for people nowadays to take extra food supplements than before as the pace of society has been faster and it deprives more from us. The food we eat outside is not as healthy as it should be and our body definitely requires more from other sources besides food.I used to take vitamin E regularly to help my skin and recently I was suggested to take vitamin B to help calming myself down in order to be more focusd on my study.But I went to the pharmaceutical store and got reply like "Vitamin B is used for psychological use". I am metally healthy,I promise.But it is a fact that I'm anxious about my work and study,which stirs up my impatience and distracts me easily. And older people needs more food supplement because their body cannot absorb the same amount nutrition from regular diets as they can before. My grandma takes fish oil instead of eating fish. Good point! My grandparents are already old but I think they also need to do what your grandma does. All of us need to be healthy to be able to do the things that we are suppose to do everyday. Health is wealth!

Yeah.. I daily take food supplements. They are very essential to our body. I take dry fruits, fruit punches, fruits,dates etc. These are are good food to take. This keeps me very healthy.

I've heard about them too. Sadly they are really expensive here in my country so I only go for the available ones in the market. They are cheap but are also known to the market.

I take little garlic capsules every morning. They are supposed to work like the stuff in the probiotic yogurts. They are non odour so you don't gross every one out by breathing on them all day long and they help if you get phlegm when you run which is my main reason for using them. They also guard against women's unmentionable problems

I heard garlic is really good. My father put the garlic in the vinegar as an appetizer and he says its double purpose because he needs it for his hypertension. I think that plants are really reliable source of nutrients that we need to be healthy.

I take food supplements since during these fast paced days, there are a lot of instant foods around that I myself can't help but consume as well. But I don't totally put my neck on the line on these supplements, because I believe having a healthy meal is still unbeatable, that's why I try to grab one whenever I can.

We'll just have to grab a healthy meal if we can. We just cant rely on instant food because they also bring instant illness that may take effect a few years later in our lives and we dont want that. If we wanna live a happy and long life then the secret to it is healthy living.

My family and I take supplements because the food we eat doesn't have the same nutritional value that food had a few decades ago. The one vitamin that I didn't see mentioned and feel it is as important as any, is Vitamin D. I read a medical report earlier this year that stated more than 80% of those who become sick are Vitamin D deficient. That's quite a statement since the best source of Vitamin D is the sun...yet so many people are deficient. Besides Vitamin D (we take D3 which is supposed to be of better quality) we also supplement a couple times a week with E & C, along with an almost daily dose of a multi-vitamin.

I do not take any. You do not need to, if you eat right. It is the responsibility of the individual take control of their lives and not blame the fast food industry. If people eat right, fast food places would disappear. However, that is not likely to happen any time soon. Besides there is a school of thought that suggest that food supplements cause more harm than good. If you listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs (what you should eat).

Food supplements are becoming more and more popular in my country. As people are rich, they can afford these supplements and eat a lot of food supplements, such as special vitamins, calcium tablet and extract from ginseng, which effectively make diet healthier and balanced. In my country people always cook food at very high temperature and for a long time. This could damage nutrition inside the food, especially vegetable, although people like this cooking style. Food supplements can help people overcome the shortage in their cooking style and help them absorb important element for everyday living. Food supplements have positive role in our diet. However people should not rely on these supplement. After all they are not food and we can not live by eating only food supplement. Having healthy diet and enough exercise are more essential than these food supplements.

It is very popular in my country too. But I dont actually rely on them. I still eat fruits and vegetables and take some food supplements because some nutrients are found supplements but not in the food that we eat that's why we really need to have some supplements.

i'm active person, i do weight training, my body requires greater demands for vitamins/minerals & nutrients, though i can get it to daily table food but i can't rely solely on food to provide me with all micro/macro nutrients that my body needs because the processing of foods before they get to the supermarket, cooking, air, and even light have already robbed our foods of most of the vitamins that they have to offer

I take food supplements for my body. I have Vitamin E and C supplement which goes for my immune system and skin. I think this is necessary nowadays that there are many foods that gives more on waste content in our body rather than nutritious contents to keep our body healthy. This food supplements are used to replace the nutrients and good chemical needed by our body. It helps restore and improve our body functions from the cells, skin to organs. Food supplements are mostly natural based products that gives no toxicity level in human when taken. Improving one's health is good for this will help you enjoy life more by being physically fit and maintaining a healthy body as well.

I take Resveratrol because it has been shown to slow the aging process. Also, it has been shown to combat the effects of Diabetes and even certain cancers in mice subject studies. It sure is expensive though. I take the capsule form but would rather take the liquid dropper form but it is way too expensive though. It supposedly works much better because it absorbs into the body better. There is supposed to be a new supplement coming out soon that is similar to Resveratrol that does the same but much better and even might heal organ tissue! It is based on the medicine that doctors give organ recipients in order for their body to not reject the new organs. Medicine - isn't it amazing? Maybe one day, we'll all live hundreds of years with near-perfect health!

I am taking Vitamin C time released,helps fight stress and strengthen immune system,protects the body from common disease like colds and flu..And Vitamin E for my skin, helps to protect my skin from free radical damages and it moisturize and keep skin in good condition and keep skin looks young.Some of my food supplements are mostly for my health benefits..like q-enzyme,collagen etc. WEll depends on what our body need i used to consult expert before taking them anyway.Food supplements are good for body because the food we are taking is not enough to supply our body needs so we are advised to take some of it, to supply what we lacking for. Good! Two weeks ago my doctor also told me to take Vit. C. As you said, it is very important for the immune system. We just cant afford to get sick these days.
