Computer UPS - Needed or Not?

For Indian home condition it is a must.If there is fluctuation in electric output,the UPS is necessary.Power variation can cause damage to components in the computer.Improper shutdown damages the hard disk.

I use UPS before. It basically beeps when there is no electricity passing into it. If you experience a brownout then it will beep. In other cases like it beeps on it own while there is an electricity, based in my experience, it is already near its limit. Now, I use APC as my surge protector. I think they are similar in some ways but it is more sturdy and heavy :D

hi friend, UPS is a battery that is very important that all the connections of your pc so with the cpu are attached. That u must have a back UPS because UPS play very important roles in your pc. UPS itself store current of electric supply so when sometimes their is a blackout of electric supply the UPS can still have current that makes your pc running. So in that case of your UPS that is beeping that means u have to replace it with new UPS because its no longer working & functioning and the battery already drained & exhausted. My advice to u is you must buy new UPS to keep your pc running in good condition.

I dont have ups for my computer i think i dont need ups.you buy a new ups for your computer it will be good.

UPS is very much needed.Without UPS your computer will be in a big problem.If power supply goes off suddenly then your monitor will be affected a lot.Just think your processor is running and your monitor is responding to it then suddenly all stops.Thats it.90% there is a possibility of system damage.So better have a UPS. Most of the UPS back up for 20 mins i think.If it is not coming up to that then change your battery.I too changed recently for the same reason.Hope this helps.Bye.
