Novels or short stories?

Tonight I have been searching for new books at the library. They have a database, so I am able to find the books online, before I go to the library. I have written down the names of some novels and some collections of short stories that I want to borrow. In the past I usually read novels, but recently I have started to read a lot of short stories as well. I like both kinds of books. Do you prefer to read novels or short stories? Why?

I also like both kinds of books, but I prefer to read novels. I like that short stories take less time to read and I still get an interesting story. I prefer novels though because there's more time to develop the story and characters without the story feeling rushed.

I prefer to read only novels. I want the story to continue for some time and then it is taken to the climax. Hence I never take books of small stories from the library.

I actually have not read a short story in some time. Not that I have anything against them, I rather enjoy a nice short story, but most of the authors that are my favorites write long novels, and I am usually looking forward to them when they come out and I have a nice amount of favorite authors so their books keep me pretty busy, when I am not reading fiction novels, I am reading financial or self help books, so I just never seem to have the time to read short stories.

Hi porcospino, I read both of them novels as well as short stories. Now due to eye sight problem i cannot read the books which is in very small fonts. Short stories i finish in one sitting and novels i read them in a weeks time. Have a great day

I like short stories because I can instantly finish it in one sitting. I like novels as well, because they test my imaginary skills.
