i have finished to read a book called vampire kisses, is about a girl who feel in love to a vampire, but the curious of the story is abput that star of the book, called raven, is a gothic girl, love wear black clothes, love the gothic music, and feel that is not accepted on the society, but she likes the way she live, but her dream is to be a vampire.. i dont have a daughter or a soon, but im a daugther, but not a gothic/punk/dark.. i just like the music and the black clothes, i feel confortable wearing these, but also use differents clothes so i dont be nothing, just only me!..i respect the people who choose these and all ways to feel comfortable to live..and if we feel comfortable in the manner we are living, doesnt matter what the people thought! what do you think about this way to live? are you in favour, not in favour or is just the same for you? do u acccept these people or you discriminate (unconsience or conscience)? if your child like this way to live, do u accept or not? do you permit to be one of this? thanks for asking, and have a nice day

It does not bother the way people live or dress as long as its affecting me directly. Each individual has the right to express themselves anyway that they choose to do so. Those that judge others for what they wear need to look at themselves before judging others. No one is policing their clothing. I like dark clothing, piercings, tattoos, but that does not make goth. I can have all those items and still not be goth. I am an individual that has similar taste to those that do abide by the dress code and practice this setting. I have no problems with how someone expresses themselves as long as it is not hurting me or others directly.

i second that motion. people label me that way, but being goth is more than just clothing, piercings, jewelry, music. now i have a few friends who are goth down to the life style. i don't care if people label me that way though, i have gotten use to it. as long as they are not mean or ignorant about it.

i think that the style is one thing, and live like this is other! i think also that to wear the clothes and the jewerly and bla bla, we must know what the subculture consist, what is about.. i like the clothes, and i know somethings about the culture.. i dont be part of this subculture, but i respect people who choose this. and i think that people who laugh thinking "what looks like? is stupid?.. or definetly rare or weir.. they dont know nothing and are just ignorance.. so i think that we must respect people around us, of couse, we can think this type of things, but not bother other people like discriminating because we hurt them.. thanks both for responding and share yoiur opinio with me!

I love vampires and anything that goes with it. I have my own taste. I love to wear gothic looks. I dont think anyone should be faulted for what they wear. I think that people judged because of how they look are victims. No one should be victimized. Its the persons doing the judging that I dont accept. I think Gothic, vampiric, and dark fashion is great. Its sexy. I would love to be a vampire or just look like one. And to those who judge me, KISS MY VAMPIRIC BUTT!!! Happy Hunting dl

I'm not a parent yet, but if I was I guess I would not mind if my teen wanted to be a little self expressive, but I would draw the line at being a vampire because I've seen documentary on this phenomenon, and in most cases being vampire involves drinking peoples blood, real blood in a ceremonial way. I would not want my child engaging in such activity or living in world of dark behavior and becoming withdrawn from society but over all if I had a kid and he or she was mildly into goth I would accept it but it also depends on what level of goth there into, but over all I accept everyone but if it was my child I would still accept but I would watch and monitor them closely because some teens take the gothic life style way to far, and would have to draw the line at becoming a vampire. With that said I like to rock it out sometimes myself, and I also enjoy watching vampire films, but like I said I draw the line at trying to live that life style theres nothing really wrong with being slightly gothic, but it depends on what level. some are really serious about the life style and some tend to go way to far like becoming withdrawn and feeling persecuted, I think it can be unhealthy depending on what level its on, also there some that are mildly gothic and its nothing to really worry about but if the teen is talking about becoming a vampire I would be concerned and have to be honest I would not approve. but if she still has a healthy attitude towards life and has a clear view of the world then I would not worry.

How you dress is a personal choice, and it should never be a reason for leaving others behind, or for making fun or non accepting other people. Moreover if they're from your family. Parent's are supposed to be there for their kids, but if they ridiculize their looks all the time, I find funny that they don't understand afterwards that their kids don't want to talk to them anymore. I accept people dressing as goths, as ravers, as posh, as hip hop style... I don't mind, as everyone is supposed to dress for him or herself only

alilin28 I`m listening to rock to. I don`t dress al in black, I just wear a black T-shirt or some black jeans if is it to be. I accept all forms of clothing, dressing and music, altough I don`t agree with ome of them. I`m a normal teenager, and I listen to rock and all it`s braches. In my opinion we should dress how do we want, listen to music that we like and be OURSELVES. My parents for example have different opinions about clothing or music, but they buy me clothes that I want and do not object if listening to a type of music.

It doesn't bother me and mostly people are bothered by 'goths' that aren't gothic at all. There are people who think gothic kids drink blood and want to be vampires, but in reality that's not what gothic is about. Sure there are people roleplaying to be vampires, but then again there are so many things that you can roleplay. I've been in the gothic scene for about 10 years now, I never had trouble with these people as they all have been very friendly and polite and I've made some wonderfull friends. I like the clothing and the music aswell, but I will wear anything I feel comfortable with. Also, cybergothics (the style I like most out of the different gothic styles there are) don't allways wear black. They are known for wearing fluorescent colours and fluffy fabrics.

i am a member of this subculture. at first i was in denial about it, but when you go everywhere and people who don't know you (or trying to describes you to someone else) goes, "that goth girl", well after a while i guess you have to figure that they are on to something. i say live and let live. it doesn't matter what bag you come in, as long as what's inside is good. the only thing is that i don't drink blood and i am NOT a vampire. although, out of the few off line friends i do have 1 or 2 of them are.

alilin28 I am glad I do not have a daughter who would be into that dark, grody looking evil appearing goth crap, as we would be in a continous squabble as I really think that goth thing is grody. Unhealty thinking, I dont know usually I am very open minded about most things but the goth thing is really not my style nor would i like to have kids who would dress this way. I really think its more than just an expressing oneself it is a sick life style and not for me or mine at all. I do not dress in black and love pastels and pretty colors. black is really depressing to me. no gothic for me.

As long as they are doing their chores and their homework and being respectful, they have friends, etc., I don't care if they're into goth clothing and music.

I don't see anything bad on that particular ways of life. But liking to be a vampire is one thing. Because being like that personalities is strange and not really acceptable to the society...
