Getting visitors to comment.

My visitor and page visits continue to increase, yet commenting is rare. I seem to have a steadily increasing audience, but shy one. How do you influence your visitors to comment more?

Erf, it's like me, there are visits but no comments. u_u
I read an article that a blog had more than 1000 visits per month and has only a few people who comment.
I don't know how to make visitors to comment, maybe you can post your article and then ask a interestant question to your visitors?
