I was just sitting arroung a stop over store near my house and see a toothpaste sachet that has this warning on it. Very small ofcourse. It's like a warning in a cigarette box or pack. It states this "Do not SWALLOW poisonous" Now how can someone make us buy something to put in our mouths that is POISONOUS? If it is true, it can maybe one of the factors why humans today live a shorter life. Can flouride accumulate in our system and gradually poison us and have no idea or indication about it. According to studies FLOURIDE can actually come from aluminum, cement, steel and other industrial products and have flouride as a waste. They are saying that this research are only trying to destroy the name of some toothpaste companies. HOW ABOUT YOU? Will you put poison in your mouth even if it says it will not hurt you if you eat the allowable amount?

I think if you swallow a big amount, then that would be poisonous. You know what people say, anything that's too much can be harmful for you. I've swallowed really small amounts of toothpaste and mouthwash, still I'm alive and kicking. I guess as long as you don't swallow the contents of the bottle in one go, you're still gonna be okay.

Hi moonhcild So you chose to put poison in your mouth just because somebody say that it cannot be poison taking it that little? If you see a bottle of poison with the classic skull figure on the label, and I or someone you trust will tell you that your body can tolerate if you only intake 1 drop. Will you be willin to put that in your mouth my friend? Let us say that it will not kill you taking that little, and it's a fact. Will you still intake some? Or will you say that I should be crazy.?

Well... I don't see a skull figure in any of the toothpaste brands I know. Besides, I believe that all products go through tests from DOH and BFAD to make sure they are safe to use before they are released to the market. And it's not like I eat toothpaste on a regular basis. Sometimes in the process of brushing my teeth I accidentally swallow very little amounts (of course I always spit the toothpaste out and rinse with water afterwards). And in my case, it hasn't caused any harm to my body. Of course, I wouldn't swallow a known poison even if you say it's safe. Going back to toothpaste, I'd still use it but of course with precaution just to use a pea-sized amount and not to swallow as much as possible.

We say we are good because we really dont know the effects of it in our system right? The fact that poison is indicated in the tube of toothpaste makes it the same as the skull logo right? As you say that you dont see a skull in toothpaste

If you really look at the label for your toothpaste it does say that if swallowed it can be harmful so if you look at it that way you should be very careful not to swallow any of the toothpaste. I looked at my toothpaste the other day and thought a similar thought how can something that is supposed to be good for you also if you swallow it be so harmful to you is this sending a bad message. Honestly i just try to be careful that i don't swallow any of the toothpaste with the wonder why it would be so harmful to us i mean what is in this stuff that could make it so harmful if we swallowed it accidentally.

Yeah I agree with you. How can something good be BAD at the same time. Hehehe. It's not how much or how long we are using this stuff. All the toothpaste we used have warnings in it or atleast I think so. The fact of the matter is that we use toothpaste regularly because we really dont know the effects of it on us. If we sometimes reason that it's ok to use it becuase I din't die from it it's fine? But poison is poison was and will ever be poison right?

hi boyetski, You know what, I've red somewhere in here just the other day about "fluoride effects on child" I'll try to search it later. Anyways, I do think that it has an impact on our health since fluoride is not like a vitamin or edible mineral that can be consumed orally (like swallowing it or something) I think we should use the right amount of it and never ever swallow it. I think DOH know the facts about fluoride and I think they will not jeopardize our health and for sure companies such as Colgate and Close-Up monitor their product ingredients for safety. Maybe the level of fluoride that the article is referring to must be somewhat large/huge or are present on toothpaste that doesn't meet DOH or Dental's Association's standard. Happy Lotting!

I decided to reply to you because you have the most interesting answer so far. Anywyas since all of the respondents in this thread say that they can swallow toothpaste with flouride in little amount besides you. I would love to ask you guys this. So you all answered that you will probably eat poison as long as you dont know that it is killing you? You guys choose to eat it anyway disregarding it's poisonous elements? Will poison not be poison if you eat a little of it and not DIE?

I don't think its so much the florid that causes problems, as it is allowing all the bateria from your teeth into your system. On your teeth, its verturally harmless, but when mixed with toothpaste and then going through your diagestive tract where it mixes with other chimels in the body could probably be it because your body doesn't know how, or if it can process it.

I think the poison rate in a toothpaste is very low. That is why everyone is still alive even after using the toothpaste. Well I never heard of this and never experienced too. But It is good to know that tooth paste is a poisonous.

Yes so even if you know its poison whould you put it in your mouth? Well I honestly use toothpaste or the regular toothpaste before but as I have continued my reading about this fact. Would it be nice to atleast rid of something that we know is poisonous and maybe just maybe prolonge my healthy life? What if this poison can in turn be the reason of cancer. And yet doctors will just tell you that you have cancer. And the reason is "your unhealthy life style"? Will you blame it on the food we eat everyday? Or the things we pt in our mouths or blame it to our uncestors that had cancer?

I don`t know what to say. Sincerely I don`t believe that flouride can actually kill you, only if you take it in very big quantities. I brush my teeth daily and I am veru healthy, with no major problems, so I don`t think that flouride is bad for us. But what you said about flouride that can be the cause of shortage of life is very interesting and I`ll read more about it. Thanks.

So far, I didn't experience being poisoned with my toothpaste. I heard so many things about flouride but as long as the amount is not in excess to what is being recommended then it is still okay, after all toothpaste is being sold out legally.

I see. So since toothpaste is sold legally you will be willing to put it in your mouth. Example I will sell you a tube of toothpaste but instead of a toothpaste label ill put POISON on the label and have a little disclaimer that this poison is safe to eat. Will you buy some and eat it? It will freshen your breath too and whitens your teeth.
