I think I spotted a bug in the latest Mylot! :)

Well, it is nothing great - just that Mylot has managed to create February with 27 days! Check the earnings page for February 2010. :) What could have gone wrong? The last line has to be stored in the database, before checking for the following month, and initializing (storing zeroes in) the variables. Looks like that step (storing in the database) has been overlooked! What could it mean? March would have 30 days, April, 29, and so on. :) I could be wrong of course.:) Do you feel great when you spot a bug? I do. :) Do you spend your time analyzing the causes? :) I do. :) Please share your experiences. :)

hi Aunty------My earnings page for february shows my credits for complete 28 days---you must have missed one day there by it shows 27 days in your earnings

I do not feel great though when i find one but i would cross check twice---thrice before reporting it to the Admin or discussing it with friends and fellow mylotters

Actually sunny I didnt notice that the days on which we were not earning were not being listed! I thought each and every day of the month was being listed. So it is my mistake! Diana noticed the error on my part, and gently pointed it out. I stand corrected. :)

Mine has earnings for the 28th Are you sure that you posted something during the 28th in myLot's time zone? That was Sunday, their Sunday. If you didn't post you would have no earnings.

MyLot don't put zeros when we don't earn anything on a certain day, they just miss the day out. They put zeros in a column if we have earnings in another but if there are none at all the day is missing completely.

Dont you think it should show a zero for that day? Date should be there with zeroes - that is what I meant. :) I was not looking for earnings. :) Now that you've mentioned something about earnings, let me check whether dates without amounts appear in the list. I was virtually absent for a couple of days. But still I find somethings there. :) Why? We have third instalment of advance tax to be paid by March 15th. So I was just looking for February 28th actually. :) Not amount on that day. :(

I just checked, makcik.. hope you are doing fine. It's already until 28th... maybe it has not been changed/updated. Interesting though to know it's until 27th only.

If you want to see all the dates appear, you have to post something That's what I do, then there are no blanks

Yeah, anak saudara, Diana pointed out that only if there is some earning that the date appears. :( I thought we were getting every date there! I was expecting to see February 28th - with zero zero. he he. That's bad. All dates should appear!

sorry , but i dont like bug spotters ... they seem not to give me chance of being normal human ... they seem to spot even the slightest mistake like font type, size .. missing of one comma or fullstop ... oh ! its worst if i have to do the whole thing over and over again ..

perhaps you will hate peoples who are in quality engineering. Its not about finding mistakes but making sure that product is good from a end user point of view. Will you like a bug in the banking application which may decrease your bank balance and transfer it to someone else. The answer would be no if you ask me.

And Sanjana, I am embarassed enough to say - it was a false alarm. :) Actually there is no bug. :) I didnt notice that on days we dont earn, the dates are not shown in the list. I do go to the earnings page, but I rarely note the content. I was actually trying for changing my email address as the present paypal address has some name issues. :)

I have participated in 28 Feb. But there is a cause ... my participation time is may not be in 28 Feb. according to mylot timezone. I think my participation time is not included in Feb 28.according to mylot time zone. I think that this caused by timezone difference.

I've discovered that if you don't earn anything on a day, they don't post it so, I might have Feb 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, etc...

hey - don't worry about it! I didn't notice it until recently when neither I, nor my referral, made any money and that day just didn't show up... I was like... ????? then understood, there was some earnings on every other day

Hi ElicBxn, yes, that is so true. :) I dont normally look at my earnings from discussions, at best it is a brief glance - like when there was this kid who was not reaching the minimum payout. So I went and found that even had equal amount to earn for payout. Then I offered to compete with him, so that he would be motivated. But other than that, I feel if I look at cents, my real objective would not be served. I can earn as much as the rest I suppose. But my replies would be much too mechanical, and the typos and grammatic errors that creep in right now, would be much higher. :) So - I stick to expressing what I feel. I feel like a fool because I never observed this. :( Sorry. :(

Spotting a bug is a good thing vandana, i think you sould report it to mylot so that they can rectify this , although i have not checked it myself if this is the case then this bug will have to corrected .. anyway i cant check that as i was not active on mylot for a few days so i would be able to expect money on those days so those days would be naturally missing in mine.. I guessi will wait till march 31st then

Yes vandana, one day's earning is very important in myLot. Because one cent earning is very big in myLot. To make ten we have to wait for some months. I checked the earnings page. But I found 28th February's earnings added in the month's earnings page.So you please check again.

I am feeling so bad for misleading you all. :( There is no bug. It is my fault. I didnt observe. They dont show the dates on which there is no activity. I didnt observe that before. So when I looked for the last date, I didnt find it, and since the modifications were recent, I happily and hastily concluded there was a mistake with the package. I am so sorry.

My February has always had 28 days, I check it daily and I would have noticed. Interesting that you don't have one, or has it come back? Hope it gets fixed for you. Actually, at my age, I wouldn't mind losing a few years. I wonder if that can be arranged?

Hi catdla, me too! I'd love to lose a few years. :) Actually, Diana has pointed out that may be I didnt participate in any discussion on that day so it didnt appear. :) But I thought it should appear with zero zero amounts. That signifies the end of the month!

Hi Vandana...well its great that you were observant enough to notice the bug and post it here.........As for me I was out of town and did not mylot in the last week of february, so the missing last sate will not affect me...he..he....But I think you should notify the admin since many people will other wise lose their earnings on that day...Good going vandana.....

Hi Rose, sorry for responding so late. Actually - I was not observant enough. There is no bug there. As Diana has already pointed out, when we dont earn anything on any day, the date is not shown. I thought there should be zeroes. I didnt find the date there, and I was pretty hasty in concluding something is wrong with the package. :( Sorry. :(

Actually, I was not! :) I just looked for February 28th in February list. Not finding it there, I returned to March thinking I would find it here. This led me to believe that there was an error. But it was a false alarm. Let me assure you, everything is fine with the program. I didnt notice that there were no dates with zero earnings. :)

Just now I checked my earnings page and Feb 28 earnings are listed out in my page. Actually today's earning will appear only tomorrow night. Hence 28th February earnings will appear on March 1st night. See once again.

Great Vandana, I am in quality engineering and finding bug in the application or product is my job. So when we engineers find a bug its a matter of happiness for the team. But now a days I am tired of this job where finding faults and again making sure that it has been rectified, has become boring. At the same time the one whose code is tested and bugs are unveiled, feel that test team is their enemy. We have to deal with such situations almost everyday, when a developer is worried about a bug discovered by Quality team. Finding bug is my job and if I do not this, the end user like you will find it which will have negative impact on the application or product. Quality engineering.

Oh dear, what have I done? :( There is no bug there!!! I made a mistake. I am genuinely sorry! :( Actually I have not been observant enough. Because of it, I didnt realize that on the day we are not active, mylot doesnt show the dates. I was just looking at the last date of the month. And why the entry was not there. :) Honestly, if there were zeroes in that line, it would not have caught my attention. :)
