Sense of style?

Well, even though I am a woman I never liked shopping that much. I am overweight and when I was younger my mom always made me get XXL clothes and they were so baggy. As I entered high school I started seeing the other girls and wanted to get my own style but I was overweight so I didn't have much options. Now I am in Miami where I can find stuff in my size but I still do have to try stuff on and I hate that part, but I still want to find a style that fits me. I use to be a jeans and a t-shirt type of girl but I want to be more girly and start wearing dresses, skirts, etc. So anyway, how did you come across your sense of style? Do you like to shop? What do you dislike about shopping?

I am the same way you are...and I too, always hated shopping for clothes. I also hate trying them on. I pretty much know my sizes now and just buy stuff in my size. I mostly stick to comfortable clothes like pants, shorts and t-shirts. I really need to get at least 1-2 dress outfits though. I've always been a jeans and t-shirt girl and pretty much still am. Comfort is the operative word for my sense of style. When I started working, I was such an eager-beaver that I wanted to move up within the company as fast as I could. And then I read somewhere that you should dress not for your job right now, but for what you want to be. So there was a lot ties and coats when I first started out. After a while, the novelty of a new job wears off. And seeing that the company I work for now has no dress code, I just come in wearing whatever is comfortable. I still wear the long sleeved shirt, but most of the time, I'll just come in jeans.

Hey don't feel bad. A lot of overweight there can carry themselves without a problem. You can definitely become fashionable in your own way. You have to know kinds of clothes that will fit you better, like what cut of a dress will look good on you. You can check out some magazines or even check here in the net for different fashion styles. You may develop your own someday so don't feel bad. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with your clothes. My style is simple though as I love to wear shorts and jeans. But you know, you can definitely still look good on it. But losing maybe a few pounds would make it even easier for you. Good luck Flirty and I'm sure you'll gonna have a good shopping experience in Miami now. Find me a good top too, something which hides my fat belly haha.
