I don't know much about Facebook but what I do know, I think the whole thing is stupid... however.. my grand daughter loves playing the games. Can anyone answer this... when there is a game to play, and there are tons of them offered...like farmtown, farmville, etc.... do these games have to be downloaded to mmy PC or in anyway attached to my hard drive or installed to my hard drive like regular games do? I haven't seen anything to confirm this, but then I am rather internet/computer challenged and often wouldn't know if it was downloading or not. I just don't want a bunch of junk on my hard drive and her downloading virus and things and not know it. So.. is there any "danger" in joining these games on Facebook?

No risk at all but too much fun =) let you grand daughter do it cause facebook is a clean site and has not any files on your computer.

I think some of the games do involve downloading at least some software. Mafia Wars for one, but most of theprogram remains online.

For a 10 year old...Mafia Wars won't be on my PC at all! Thanks for your comment. Appreciate the info.

No, the facebook games reside on the servers that operate them so there's nothing to download. For this reason some of them tend to run slow. Cafe World runs so slow that it locks up one of my desktop computers...but Farm Town ran pretty well. I don't play that one anymore but all of them are basically the same.

I don't play them or have much of anythign to do with Facebook - I think it is stupid to have minimal phrase stuff going on.. just call or write/email me! But my GD is 10 so Mafia Wars (I have heard about it) is definately not for her, but she likes all the kid games and those I have reviewed and are appropriate for her. Happy playing to you tho!

They are the applications running on the server side and you dont have to bother about the system hard disk and other factors. Those games are for fun and can actually be played to alleviate the pressure. Regards, Sum

Thanks I appreciate knowing that. She is 10 and loves the kids games and "earning money" to buy things and it is kind of teaching her about budgeting and making enough to buy what you want or just spend as you get it and the difference between the two! I just didn't want junk on my HD or virsus!
