Hello, I have two boys one 6 and one 8 month old. My six year old started crawling at 6 months and walking at 8 months. Now my new baby boy does not even want to hold his own bottle lest more crawl. He may just be lazy. But I wanted to get your oppinions. When did your little one start crawling and walking?

Hi buzzlightmom, I have 2 girls with a 10 year age gap, they both developed at different rates however it is nothing to worry about. Each child has their own pace, he'll do it when he's ready and then be on his feet with you running behind him My eldest walked at 11 months & my youngest walked at 10 months, but they are both leggy. I do wish my youngest hadn't learned to walk though, she is a little devil!! Enjoy him x x Mrsl x x

I know I am going to regret what I am saying now when he has me running behind him in a few months. I see he is going to be a little hand full also.

Hi, I have two daughers, the elder daugher is 3 years old and my younger daughter is 2 months old. My eldest started to crawl @ 5 months while she started walking with support when she was 7 months. I hope my younger daughter will be the same. In your case better ask advice of a pedia 'coz boys are usually active even at young age.

The ped says he's fine. She will watch him for the next few months. Wow 5 months is fast and so is walking at 7.

Babies develop at different times. For example my son, Leo, got his first two teeth when he was 5 months old. My daughter, Amber, is now 8 months old and she is only just got one tooth in sight. It is beginning to come through. That shows how different two siblings can be. My baby girl, Amber, was able to roll over at 4 months old. She began sitting unaided at 6 months old. She doesn't want to hold her own bottle. She can move backwards but not forwards. She isn't able to crawl yet. I know some babies don't crawl but go straight to walking. I am sure your son is developing normally and he will learn to crawl when he is ready. If not he might just starting walking. Good luck.

I took my first step when I was eight. It varies from person to person, from child to child! I think Doctors can respond much better!!

I don't think that there is a normal that can be determined in the milestones that children reach. My son started crawling when he was five months old but he didn't start walking until he was almost thirteen months old. My daughter didn't start crawling until she was eight months old and just a month later she was walking. And then there was my niece who never crawled at all, she just pulled herself up one day and took off walking. All children will reach their milestones in their own time and I wouldn't be concerned about your son at this point.

My boy started to crawl and walk when he was 10 months old and very soon after that started to walk with help. We did not use a walking toy, I didn't want to push him walking. And he learned to hold his bottle by himself when he was a year and several months old. I think that there's no reason to worry. My JP told me that there's a tendency children to stat to walk later - at about a year and 2-3 months if you not put him/her in a walking toy. She also said that this is better for children skeleton.

My 8 month baby girl is still not crawling yet but she tries to, she is doing it backwards jajaja. Every baby has its own development so donĀ“t worry I have heard that there are babies that do not even crawl they just start walking. Just keep encouraging your baby he will do it sometime when you do not even expect it
