Personally, I think it is difficult to prevent. The only way to resolve depression is by the way you handle it. Some people have successfully improved after therapy, medication, or by relaxing. I started going the gym more and seeing a phsyciatrist a couple of times. It's hard..depression is easy to repeatedly fall in, like a deep, dark spiralling circle. It takes time and youirself to change, to feel better. I wish you the best of luck. :)

It is true that depression is something which is difficult to cope with. It takes so much time and a good real effort in order to be able to lord it over. The most important thing shall be the awareness from one's part that he is in a bad mood and is willing to smash it up with one's utter will power. The best way to cope shall be to do what is most interesting to the person who is struck by the depressive mood. Getting up from the mood, takes some good effort in itself. However, knowing the cause of the depression is the only cure to it.

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage stress, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.

Im sure it is different for different people but I do not think depression can be prevented. I became depressed for no particular reason and when I look back I do not see anyway in which I could have prevented it. The same for any other times. Im a lot better now and sometimes feel myself start to get depressed again. I think it would be easier if you have a reason for the depression because then you can do something about that but depression of this kind is more difficult.

To prevent depression you do the things that keep you mentally healthy. Spend time with others who uplift you. Have some good face-to-face conversations with friends. Find stuff that makes you happy, that makes you laugh... and laugh! Balance work, rest, and fun time. Make sure you have all three, and that you get enough of all three. Take the time to relax, look around, and be grateful for what you have.

I usually feel depressed when I'm idle. After consulting my shrink we figured that it's best to keep oneself busy most of the time in order to avoid feeling low. It worked for me.
