how to stop receiving notification email about new post by friend?

My problem is the exact opposite. I've got notifications turned on and boxes checked and get NO e-mails. Oh, wait. I lie. I do get 'best response' messages, but nothing else.
Oops, sorry.

Weird, isn't it? It's got me bamboozled. 
I use an e-mail client, so I even logged directly into the account in question to see if there was some rarely-used off-the-wall setting I was missing, but no, that wasn't it. I don't use a proxy. I thought maybe my IP addy was on some black list, but that really didn't make any sense. And I even thought maybe it's my mail server, but I've changed my e-mail address once, and didn't want to start sending up all sorts of flags about why is this member constantly changing her e-mail address?
I've got all the myLot addresses in my book, and still check my Junk Mail folder, and nothing.
BUT...like I said...I DO get notifications when I get a 'best response'!

this is one good feature that i like since the update. new added friends are automatically turned the notification on. so everytime a friend start a discussion we will be notified. don't you think this is a great way to respond to your friends discussion, without going to the site, you can read their topics before you decide to respond?

I have had to turn some of the notifiers off, as I have been getting so much eamil lately, that I am getting fed up with all the discussions being posted by the users day in and day out. They don't realize that more than likely their discussions will get deleted anyway, so they are really wasting heir time even bothering posting like they are. I still get enough notifiers, so I might have to turn more off. I won't turn them all off, as some don't post like that, so I keep them on, but the ones that just post and post, I am going to shut them off, as I have been ignoring their discussions anyway. I don't understand why they can't just post one good a day instead of so many that my inbox is getting inundated with emails. I could never post like some do, as I wouldn't be able to keep up with all of them, and I am sure that they really aren't following up with their discussions anyway. I am sure tha mylot has a handle on it though, and will take care of their discussions in time. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
