well, i think i'm one of the very few people who actually like reading on the screens. I've read hundreds of e-books on my laptop and i can read for hours without a break on it. I very rarely feel any kind of stress while reading from the screen. Eyes do get tired after a certain amount of time but that is the case with hard copies also. I've never felt any kind of extra strain while reading on screen. the reason might be that i've got very habitual of reading on screen or it can be that i always keep the contrast and brightness of the laptop very low.

I really don't like reading on a screen because its hard on my eyes. That and a screen means technology and I find technology to be very temperamental. Books should not be able to crash. It's just not right. I think I read the same speed either way, but I like flipping through pages and watching them fall behind my bookmark.

I think you're right about that. I haven't tried a device like a kindle so I don't know how that compares to reading on a computer screen but it still wouldn't be the same as reading a book. I downloaded a few free ebooks on my computer that I may or may not read sometime, but I'm not sure I would ever pay for any!

I much prefer paper books to. I really can't read things on the computer for long periods at time. My eyes end up wanting to pop out a lot more, when I'm reading on the computer for long periods of time. I've always preferred reading paper books rather than on the computer. I think that I will always prefer paper books. I have so much more fun reading paper books.

I find it difficult to read things for a long period of time on a screen. Considering that I love reading, things like Kindles and ereaders would be problems for me. I love books, anyway, especially old ones. There's just some sort of...character that is missing from electronic books and whatnot.

i agree with you~ i really hate reading materials on the screen. as a research assitance, i need read lots of paper each day on the computer screen. it is my job, but my eyes have been score hardly. and I always need to read several times in a topic. On the contrary, when i read paper that i printed, i feel better and i can understant it quickly. and i love reading books. i enjoy the paper books and it really feel good.

I agree with you. I hate reading text from a computer screen. The glare hurts my eyes and you really can't cuddle up with a good book that way haha. My eyes tear up and I can't finish what I'm reading when it's on a computer screen.

I love paper books and wouldnt have it anyother way. I like being able to read them and flip the pages and stuff instead of scrolling down on a screen. Reading a paper book you could think more and not get distracked with other stuff like you could do on a screen.
