HYIfund - used to be legit but possibly turning scam now

HYI Fund mail - possibly turning scam - This is the mail I recieved from HYIFund on Saturday, March 13, 2010 7:07 AM.

It shows two signs that they are about to disappear and scam everyone
1. They are asking people to deposit some money to avoid having their accounts deleted. So they can leave with some money.
2. Minimum deposit amount increased from 1$ to 5$. So they can run off with even more money.

I received a rather suspicious email from them, I'll post only the important parts here that's giving me blaring signals. ***Spring Cleaning*** As part of our annual spring cleaning, we will be reviewing the accounts within our system and deleting all inactive accounts. Accounts are considered inactive if they are more than 2 weeks old, and have not yet made a deposit. Yeah, they're telling me to make a deposit, now the even bigger signal is found later in the email: ***Alertpay Minimum Deposits*** A few days ago we increased the minimum Alertpay deposit from $1 to $5 It seems like they're going down and want to take 5$ from everyone, mostly the new guys, before they will go for good. Yes, they are announcing two things in one email, which both lead to saying everyone needs to deposit 5$ so they can run off with everyone's money. Though I'm probably just paranoid, what do you guys think?

They seem within their rights. If you are a member of those types of sites you do make a deposit if you are serious...if you aren't serious and don't make a deposit then you would be considered inactive. I don't think raising a deposit from 1 to 5 is that outrageous for this type of site....I think you need to decide if this program is right for you.

I agree with you, but they told us before that we should deposit at least 1$ to withdraw. I was going to deposit some money, but I'm not sure now. They want a deposit for me, otherwise they'll delete me. I don't think it's fair.

I thought the new rate was for NEW depositors(members). I don't like the idea of having the rules changed after I am a member. Do you have money in your account there? How can they tell you that you need to deposit more?

I have 3$ and some cents. Everyday I invest my interest back. I don't know what's going on with them. I hope they'll not delete my account.

Try evaluate it carefully. How can these HYIP afford to pay back its investors? To be able to reward its investors with very high yield, they must be so good in investing, even better than Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway!? If they are that darn so good, how come Wall Street don't even notice their investing wit? Think about it. I'm just wondering about these HYIPs.

HYIP's *are* called scams for a reason, they live on members not on real investments. For these types of scams, the first few members are paid regularly and they will be the ones to spread the word using referral links, and the last majority of members are the ones that get scammed and end up losing either time, money, or a combination of both. HYIP's are just scams, you'll need to register with them early so you'll be part of the few that get paid, and it seems like HYIFund is about to close so those that deposit now are probably part of the last majority of members that don't get paid.

Well let see after the spring cleaning if they are still afloat. I think it is premature to say they are really going down. But if there is a frequent downtimes like this one then I guess we should be cautious in making additional deposits beginning this point until the said spring cleaning is said to commence. If they are still there then I guess it is okay to stay there for a while and enjoy the ride.

I don't think that they are going to turn into a scam. I think that because they offer their users the free two dollars and fifty cents investment a lot of users join because they figure they can get free money. I'm sure there's a bunch of members on hyifund that have yet to make an investment and I think that's probably why they are cleaning up their site. I don't really blame them. Although raising their minimum deposit and then making the deposit necessary is a little shady looking I think that I'm going to try and make the investment and salvage my account. With the site getting cleaned up chances are their could be an increase in earnings as well as server time. I've seen that hyifund has been approved by an anti scam site before.

Hi megalancer! I don't think they are turning scam, after all, they've been online for more than 6 years (since 2004) and I don't think they'll go down just like that. I'm also user there and I'm one of the users who use AlertPay for depositing money there and I think it should be best to ask AlertPay if they have raised the price of their services (that is what HYIfund state in their mail). It seems a bit suspicious, but I don't think we should worry much about it. Artificially created panic doesn't help anyone, time will show... :D Take care and happy mylotting!

Hi they are acting withing thier limits. That does not prove that they are scam because a lot of other hyip ask a minimum deposit of $10 and it is normal for sites to delete inactive accounts I just made a withdrawal of $1 I invested and I recieved it.

me too checking loyalty is good thing but at hyips you can not expect guarantee from any one mean any one they can just go away coming second and we will not be in a position to do anything and what does this mean spring cleaning...actually it may also be that they require funds to stabilise the site but still big confusions I like this site at least the working and wanted to my money accumulated to earn at least $1 everyday for me..but now things changed..will decide on 17th only what to do..till than if you get something more please post..so we will be informed about the latest happenings..

Yes, friend. Maybe this 2.50$ bonus was just a catch. Now we have to deposit at least one dollar. Otherwise we will be deleted. I was sure that something like this is going to happen . . .
