Last night, we went to a gig with a friend who is a professional singer. He ended the evening with this wonderful song by Luther Vandross. It really resonated with me, because I lost my father when I was only 16, and even now, 40 years later, I still miss him. Do you have a song that reminds you of a lost loved one? Let's all cry together, shall we? Here's the obligatory YouTube link: : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLuP-4ZEhOE :

Ok so I lost my grandfather to cancer 3 mo ago and his fav song he used to sing is "Strangers in the Night" by Fank Sinatra and everytime I heard this song I used to think of him and I still do but now it makes me cry thinking about him b/c I miss him so much. He def had other fav songs but this one really sticks out as well as "Nature Boy" by Nat King Cole. The Strangers in the Night also makes me think about my grandparents and how they met. It seems like that song was made for them :D

Hello, Lochoa. The best songs always seem to be written for you or the people close to you, I find. 'Strangers in the Night' is one of my favourites too, although I haven't come across the Nat King Cole song. I'll look on YouTube for it.

Hello, Dawn. Yes, it's beautiful - and I can't believe I've never come across it before.

After listening to the song, it left me with teary eyes as it really reminded me of my father who has gone to his rest 3 years ago. I ended listing to all his other songs listed in youtube but I think this song "Dance with my Father' was the best from Luther Vandross. You are right 'let us all cry together.

Hello, Zandi. It's such a beautiful song, and I hadn't even heard it until last night. I've had another little cry today, with the song PA put up. It's funny how some songs just seem as if they were written with you in mind, isn't it?
