I think Liverpool is weak in central midfield,it lacks creative midfielder and also it lacks penetrative forward line.The present Liverpool is experiencing several reverse results due to lack of finishing qualities from their strikers and also due to lack of creative midfield play.They are depending too much on Gerrard and Torres.I think the players who can and possibly will make a difference to this Liverpool side are Lionel Messi,Xavi,Iniesta and Samuel Eto.Apart from overseas players I think Liverpool will do well if they can purchase Didier Drogba from Chelsea,Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal and Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.The introduction of all or even a few of these players will change the game for Liverpool and make them a winning side within the least possible time.Rafa should go out and try to purchase some of them.

yes i agree..
but i dont think that fabregas or rooney can leave their club.

yeah it's true that Fabregas and Rooney don't appear to leave their respective clubs right now but it is up to Rafa and his team to lure them to their side..if they don't get rooney then may be Carlos Tevez is an option and instead of Fabregas may be David Beckham or Aaron Lennon..even Larsson of Birmingham City will be a good choice as he appears to be in very good form right now scoring goals almost regularly..If Rafa can't spend much then he can go for Darren Bent or Jermaine Defoe and in the midfield he can opt for Garreth Barry who is a good left footed footballer.There are plenty of options available and it's up to Rafa to accept them or reject them and go for mediocer players just as he did before in the case of Aquilani

I think the place where Liverpool is weakest is in their manager. I think Rafa has had a long run without delivering much except for one Champions League title. He needs to go and a fresh start is required at Liverpool. The spanish players that he has brought have not really worked out except for Torres and Alonso to some extent.
