In a flock, all are welcome and responded well by the host. Everyone is treated well but you are ignored..... You even don't know the reason why are you ignored. You can not remember whether there is any enmity between the host and you. How do you feel. That situation is of a party. Party of some people where all are not intimate. But some professional binding. Now here in discussion....... Have you ever face such situation that in any discussion you have posted response with numbers of other responder. If you noticed that all other are response are commented but your response is not commented. Each and every response is commented leaving your response. Even many of the response box is busy with follow up. But you are ignored. How do you feel that situation? Have you ever faced that situation?

The situation that you've given here is not so common. I usually get responses to 70% of my responses. So I am pretty happy with my writing skills and knowledge etc. What if someone does not respond? Well, I think my answer has satisfied the author and he/she doesn't need anymore knowledge from me, that is what I would think. I mean, I do not care if I don't get a response. I have done my duty by replying to a discussion. That is my point of view.. :)

To tell you the truth, I really don't feel anything if my response is ignored. I take it that either the author of that discussion is happy with my response and needs no more information from me... Or he doesn't agree with me! It feels bad, I know. But what is the point of feeling bad? I just let it be and move on.. Have fun!

Yes it is not so common. Responses are not commented in many discussions. But the is a very rare incident that leaving on response all other responses are commented. And now my question is how do you feel to be the poster of that ignored response? As the rare incident I think that will be the rare feeling to be that unique creator of such response. It is not a matter of being careful whether response is commented or not. But it is a occurred situation for any one. This is little discouraging of that person. Because among 20/40 people only he is ignored.

When response is not commented particularly single one from the flock then it indicate that that response is unwanted for the author. If some other are also not commented then we can take that author selected some particular responses for commenting and those are not among them. But ignorance of only single from flock really disgusting for the poster of the ignored response.

I have not said here about the responses that received for self posted discussion. I want to say if you respond to other discussion. But the poster of the discussion comment on other responses leaving you? Other that your response other all responses are if commented what do you feel in that situation?

Up until now I didn't bother with it, because I had the attitude that a good discussion has a good original post, and various posters can give a good replies, and that would be it. Reading various discussions today is making me double think that, and I'll have to pay attention to see what kind of responses to responses may be necessary, even if it doesn't add anything to the discussion at hand. It does remind me of times in actual face to face discussions in a group when I try to say something, someone else keeps beating me to it.

You are right only the valueless responses are ignored. But in a discussion of 20/30 responses if only one is ignored then how meaningless response was that. And if you are the poster of that ignored response how do you feel?

In a group setting or even online, sometimes I will make a post and get a ton of responses. Other times I will post and get no response. I try to remember that sometimes things move so fast that people don't see my post or they just don't know the answer or how to reponse. I don't take it personal. Of course I did have a fall out with a group of people, then that would probably be the reason why the would ignore me, I think.

You are right that there must be some reason for ignoring only any one person from the flock. With other many people if anyone post response but only he is ignored leaving other definitely it is discouraging for him. Such situation bring little disappointment for the person. And a feeling comes why have I responded there where only he is ignored.
