The Daredevils biggest weakness exposed.

hi friends. ever since i looked at the daredevils batting line up last year,i had the feeling that something is way too wrong with this squad and eventually guessed it. delhi usually go with the top openers sehwag and gambhir with dilshan following them. then the middle order comprising of AB and karthick and then manhas. got a all rounder in the form of maharoof and the rest all bowlers. can you spot the problem? its simple, delhi got the 2 most reliable/unreliable but freakish batsmen in the form of sehwag and dilshan who go for their shot regardless of the situation.they have no intention of occupying the crease for long and gets out quickly with some very quick runs.fair enough. gambhir is an exception. then only AB and another freak karthick. so i can pretty much say that delhi's batting strength lies with the top 5 out of which 3 are mostly unreliable. not sure of manhas and maharoof got talent but the major issue is they dont have somebody in their line up at number 5 and 6 to clear the boundaries like morkel or dhoni or pathan. they managed to reach the semis both the time because one of 5 usually fired big time.but when they failed, the team failed. that was pretty eveident yesterday.dilshan and sehwag got out how they usually get out and applied the full pressure on the middle order which didnt do any justice. besides,if you noticed that in both the semis finals, they didnt play like the team they played in the league stages. will they make it to semis this time?not sure at all.

I still feel that Delhi has a great batting lineup. Sehwag will win at least 1-2 matches on his own. Dilshan would sooner rather than later come to form and win at least 1-2 games. The onus is on De Villiers and Karthik to come to party especially given the fact that Gambhir is now out injured. I still fancy Delhi to make the semis this time around. Cheers! Ram

hi there... it is true that the delhi dare devils have been riding on sehwags blistering batting all the time... but it is not because they dont have any other good players but shewag has always been firing from the front.. so i dont think everytime sehwag fails the team will collapse...

Hey u, Hmm.. I dont agree with you in this. Simply beoz they are playing 20 overs game here. And they have a solid looking top order. The thing is they dont have a very good bowling attack. U need to have at least 3-4 players who can win matches on their own. And Delhi have it in them. Thus iam not surprised that they were the most consistent team along with Chennai team. Cheers, Tutul
