Liverpool qualified for quarter final....

Hi ram, This season is totally forgotten season for Liverpool FC and fans. They did not do the right things from the start and always in the news for the wrong reason. That is why football should be in the hand of football fans and no in the hands of those who is only looking it as a business property only. Failing to provide enough fun to cover the injury list when it matter most at the early season bring down the players mentality. They lost a lot of games in the early season because there is lack of defender available. This drag other players and they can not concentrate in their games. Liverpool players also not certain in their future. They can feature in one game and play a perfect game but would be out of the team in the next game. This is not good because they need to play not only for the fans but more importantly to their national team coach. They need to play regularly to be on the team at South Africa. This is the cases of Ryan Babel and Albert Riera. But at least their win against Portsmouth and Lille lessen the pressure. Against Manchester United, it is hard for them. They are not in their very best condition especially after Riera burst before the Lille game against Rafa Benitez. Even though they won their last two games, it is not enough to keep your confident high especially when you will face the team like Manchester United. But, everything is possible in football. They are in the same situation before they meet Manchester United in their first meeting in Anfield and they come out as a winner. My bet still on them to win this game, 2-1.

I think Liverpool would have a real go at Manchester United. Because that is the least they can do for their fans, so if they can beat Man U, even if they have a poor season, they can at least look back at these two matches to redeem them. Cheers! Ram

If Liverpool can win this game and Manchester United did not win the trophy, Liverpool can still have a breathing space. Since they can not win the title, Liverpool will do anything to stop Manchester United to win it. They will never want to pass the leading baton to Manchester United as the team that won the most English title.

Hi sutent, I did not seen you for long time here. Are you busy or lost interest in here anymore? Last week they play Portsmouth and won it by 4-1. Portsmouth score a goals in 88th or 89th minutes. It is a good game for Liverpool especially the first half. Gerrard, Torres and Aquilani combine well in that games and their one touch game almost bring more goals in first half. Liverpool qualify for Europa League quarter final after beating Lille 3-0 at Anfield and the aggregate is 3-1. They will face Benfica in the quarter final. I hope they can qualify for the semi final and see if they can beat the Spanish side there. valencia and Atlantico Madrid play in another quarter final.

Hi danoluma, You are right. Liverpool has a lot of great players in their team. Players like Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt, Mascherano, Reina and a lot more is very good. The only problem why Liverpool play badly this season is to tactical failure. And once again they show they can progress in the European competition even though this time they play for less prestigious competition. If they can be a Champion League champion then it is very much likely they will win this first edition of Europa league. I think it would be hard fought game. Both team come out from European assignment this week with a win and they would like to continue it. Manchester United would try to win this game to keep they lead at the table standing. Liverpool, otherwise, will try to save their season by qualify for the next season Champion League. But base on this season and last season record, Liverpool has a greater chance to come out as a winner this time. From the last 3 game against Manchester United, they won it all.
