Whats wrong with the kids today? A lot of minors are committing heinous crimes.

I read the news today and I can't believe my eyes. A group of minors gang raped a minor girl in front of her boyfriend and after the raped the girl they shot the boyfriend in the head. Although they caught the suspects its just disappointing to know that these kids won't pay for their crimes because of their age. I really hate it when justice is denied because of technicalities of the law. Being a minor shouldn't be a reason why these type of people are allowed to run free and commit another heinous crime in the future. Even though their age are still considered minors they already were thinking and acting like adults. They planned the whole heinous act because they wanted to hurt the boyfriend because of his involvement on a rival gang. Those kids knew that what they did was wrong and could definitely see the difference between harmful and harmless acts. I really think that these kind of minors really need to take the full punishment of the law. Being able to do those kind of heinous acts at a young age definitely means these guys are going to commit much more despicable acts once the grow older. I do hope these guys rot in jail and I hope they should revise the law regarding minors who commit heinous acts with discernment. I couldn't fathom how these minors became evil people at a very young age.

Yes a lot of kids commit a lot of heinous crimes now a days. I even read in the news last year of a group of 11 year old kids who raped a 10 year old girl. Its a pretty disturbing world we live in right now.

Everything starts in the family: if the kids don't get a proper education at home there is no way they'll learn it anywhere else. The society does not help either: movies, video games, internet, TV ... although we get many benefits from them there is more violence than ever before available for everyone to see - and kids are not immune to it.

It all depends what the definition of a good or messed up home is ... many families look perfect from the outside but all sorts of things happen on the inside that can lead to problems in the future (I'm talking about the kids here...); many parents don't know how to say no to their children, many parents do not want to acknowledge their kid has a problem ... I think it is very important to have a good, solid base education from the family (not only parents but all relatives), that way many situations in which the kid will find him/herself in (specially in teenage years) will be adressed and the kids will know how to act, react, not give in to peer pressure and so forth. Unfortunatelly today children are, more often than not, left on their own during these vulnerable years (they are neither kids anymore nor adults yet) and if they have not been taught the important things in life at home they'll see it, read it, hear it ... somewhere else and take that advice (the wrong one...) as the model to follow. We can see this everyday in all sorts of media: fake role models, wrong "important" things in life, the whole general system of values is off...

From what I know they can still be prosecuted under the law. What is prevented is they be out on regular jail. But I think they can prosecute them like normal crimes but until they are still considered as minors they will be put into separate detention facility to rehabilitate him and whatever the court would give him he will serve it in a real jail once he reaches age of majority.

Over here they could be tried as adults and have the same punishment. I don't know how they become evil so young either...

If you do a grownup crime I don't care the age you need to do the time. This is another one of those stories that just makes me sick. You know they will continue to do harm to others until they are of age. I just can't believe they will get away with killing another kid. Its like the world is being taken over by criminals. The criminals get a break left and right while the victim get to lie in a box six feet under. There is definitely something wrong with this picture.

Wat a stupid thing they done ? ?.. Wat u saying s right, the law want to punish him.. but for major peoples the punishment s living alone and working in prison etc etc.. the same punishment we gave to children means surely their life ll be a big question mark.. if we asked in rude tone means they ll cry, then how to punish them.. first we have to give proper advice to them, their family and friends background s the main reason for this kind of change in the child...

It's really disappointing in our country that minors simply get away with everything they do just because they are minors. I guess it's because of today's society and it's because of the family that those children were not guided properly. I firmly believe that we should have Juvenile Detention here just like in the United States. It would seem harsh for a country with our family-oriented culture but children should be taught some lessons if they do such heinour crimes.

its because we grow up around it an not around nice beautiful stuff thats why most crim are black kid committed becasue they dont have much to do an nothin to keep them busy its only a couple that makes it because they worry bout the future but since most kids dont think about what they need for the future they dont worry till there locked up in jail than they wanna come out trying after half there life is over

I am a parent, so i can you blame parents, everything starts from the education of the family, the child is not guilty for having received that education at home, in the first years of life, has been violence, even verbal, that he will later give sa me violence.

I think it's the TV and most especially the games. Games are now so true to life that you feel that you are a part of the game than playing it. The graphics, sound and even the story lines are something that you can immerse fully to it. Kids has the tendency to role play, so the copy what they are seeing and doing in the games.

I am also so sad that all these things happen. Timothy prophesied that perilous times will come and children will be disobedient to their parents. But let us not judge them the way they acted. These youngsters doing heinous crimes are not really that bad. There are several factors why such things happen. We people, as members of society has a great thing to do with this. Parents are also subject to be blamed. We all have responsibilities in molding the character of our young generation. The question is, did we do our part?

These could be avoided had the parents of the criminals never met each other so that they won't have to create a family of evil doers. Unfortunately love is powerful and no one can stop. I don't know how the parents were not able to guide their kids. Could it be that just because their children are theirs already mean they do not do something wrong? The point here is that, even if someone is your child, he or she can still commit a crime no matter if your kid came from your womb.

Lack of parenting skills, media, society, lack of religion. There are a lot of things that contribute to it. It's really sad and I think its only going to get worse.
