Playing Hide and Seek with your things at Home (-:

Philippines

Did you play hide and seek with your things at home? It would make me mad specially when I am on the last minute of work. My pen was misplaced or my phone was gone in nowhere I have to hurry finding them or I'll be late. The more you hurry, the more you could not find it... One time I seek for my favorite belt, I really never find it so I leave home without it. After a day or two, I found it right on my bed... It's really bad... Is their someone invisible hiding it... or it's the bad effect of hurrying in the last minutes? *Everyday here on myLot is Learning and Fun* Prime

Every morning... Or actually not every morning, just the ones when I'm getting late from school. I never seem to remember where I put the freaking pencil, or the backpack or something else. I do think that it has to do something with the hurry and stress. My brother always had problems to find ANYTHING though, and even on his free time, when he had no hurry or stress. So I guess that people are different, and someone find their possessions easier than others :D Me too I sometimes walk a hundred of times in front of something, before actually finding it.

Yes, it is sometimes brought by stress you seemed to be very oblivious... I am guilty sometimes because I would accuse my sister for using my things if I could not find them then... and then I would be sorry every time I saw it, and untouched by her... :-) And funny sometimes...

I always accused my brother when I don't find my wallet or my money. Once I did though really lose money, but I got them back by a miracle for 2 months after. I do think that my brother did "loan" them...

hahaha, your brother is smart though... perhaps he thought you would not give him so he decided to loan it...

Oh my! My husband would often say that all out things are getting lost all the time. When we need it we can't find it. When we don't need it it's just right in front of us. The other day I was looking for cellphone charger. I had turned the room upside down but I didn't find my charger. So my cp was off for a day and today the charger reappear on my table. I dunno where it went because I got a different charger from the other people here. My mom said our "friend" probably borrowed it.

hahahaha, that's right my friend... and is happening to my things too... but I am happy that it's less happening now as I am learning to return my stuff in the proper place... Do you believe it too? My neighbors back in our province believe on that...that perhaps 'someone' borrows it that is why sometimes when you are looking for things you could not able to find because it was being borrowed and not yet returned... Perhaps it is true... And perhaps things are sentient, is that possible?

I have had this happen to me. I am looking for something I need for work or something that I need to bring with me, and I can't find it. It could be clothing or important paperwork. I look and look and yet can't find it so I either leave home without it or just not go that day. Of course if it's work I must go and then I just ask for a replacement of what I've lost, or borrow someone else's! I think that when we rush our minds are rushed too so we're trying to look for something that may be right in front of us but can't find it because we aren't actually LOOKING where it's at if that makes sense.

Hello my friend... I guess I am late... I miss our conversation anyway... Yes, that is the reason my friend... and I have a very funny story about that... I was 3rd year college back then when I got late so I have to rush to school and there was still traffic waiting along the way. I slipped all my things inside my sling bag when I was looking for my ballpen, it was my favorite though when I could not really find it I was starting to accuse somebody when in fact later on I found it held in my hand... hahaha

Oh your lucky ballpoint pen then? Yes I'd be fuming with anger myself if I'd lost or misplace it or even thought someone borrowed or stole it without asking. Though I'd be embarrassed later to find I had it clutched in my hand! hehe, I'e asked where things are before and it has been in my hand. "where's the lid to this?" I'd ask and it'd be in my hand!

Hi promeaque, As I get older, I am more sure that an evil elf lives at my house.Sometimes I have my glasses in my hands (or the car keys like it happened yesterday) and they are hidden by this creature. Sometimes I hfind the missing glasses or keys in weird places, like beside my computer. Its clearly not the place for tham. I understand you perfectly well. Ans it is worse when you are in a hurry! Happy posting!

hahahaha, I got it now my friend... some people would say it's a figure of sppech but some people also say it's true... that they are really existing, well, I am on the middle... here in our country, there are many people who brew potions of some kinds... but I do not know how effective it is... Anyway, as we grow old, we become oblivious for many things, yet I am still 23 but I always forget something... And oh, how is your shoulder right now??? Is it okay, less ache now?

Its just a way of saying it, friend. I know that I misplace things and forget where I put them. I love to imagine and play with elves and fairies but I think that they are figures of speech. For a long time I have called myself a witch, but I´m not wasting my time in brewing potions of any kind. The closer I get to that is that I love to cook and invite my friends. And probably thats a love potion of some kind as my friends are adorable people and pamper me a lot.

Well, have you ever heard of a cupboard to put your belt in? And never leave your things lying around, that is when they start hiding and that can be tiresome looking for them. They normally see you when you are looing for the, they tend to make you search for them. TATA.

hahaha, nice one saphrina... don't you ever know i am finding for you too??? Anyway, you are right---now I am trying to place them in the right place... I am already tired playing with them...

Untill tomorrow. Then the whole prosess will be started from the beginning. I think they just love playing with you, so you have to oblige. It is only good manners, you know. TATA.

i hate hunting for things that i or other family members have misplaced! my hubby is famous for doing this and is always misplacing his keys and whatnot and now our daughters have gotten into that habit. my classic answer for anyone who has lost anything is 'it is where you put it last!"
• Philippines

Oh, great cher... so 'it is where you put it last' in other words, return all things in its proper place...

oh primeaque86 oh yes you should have seen me at lunch yesterday. I could not find my watch. the band was broken off so I just carry it in my pocket but as I had bus fare in my pocket Ihad taken out the watch and put it in a pocket in my handbag. but when I really needed it to check the time so I would not miss the bus, I could not find it. there I was dumping stuff out on my handbag onto the table with my friends trying to help me, and after ten minutes of steadily getting more upset, I went back to the same pocket one more time.aha there was the watch. now all I had to do was just stuff a bout one hundred items back into my purse, grab the handbag and dash out the front door. I had a doctor's appointment in a neighboring town, and access bus was to pick me up , drop me off then come back later and bring me back to Gold Crest. I was so rattled I forgot to sign out then later to sign back in as all residents are asked to do. the whole day was one big fiasco as the bus driver got me there almost an hour ahead of my appointment, and since they were closed and out to lunch I had to s it outside on this big ledge and wait . luckily it was really nice a nd warm outside so that was okay. then I did get picked up in a reasonable amount of time and the bright spot was the driver got me back in time to sit down and eat dinner with the rest of the residents. so good enough.

hahahaha, it was funny hatley my friend... many times it happened to me also... you know what, there were two or many times that I was really upset of finding my pen... but the fact was... I was holding it! Really so funny... and it happens to me too that due to traffic, I would be late and arrived at lunch time at the hardware so I need to sit down for hours to wait for my turn... I am happy that your entire day was overall a success. God bless hatley...

That's really frustrating isn't it? I experienced that a lot. There was this instance when I hid a huge amount of money because I want to save it from my brother. I needed money and so I though of spending the one I've kept until I realized that I forgot where I've put it. . . I think this happens because we take for granted our familiarity with the way things are at home or it could happen because of pure clumsiness and irresponsibility over our belongings.
• Philippines
20 Mar 10
You are right amijor... it's really frustrating... And, that is it... sometimes we are so irresponsible with our own belongings we take it for granted it's our home and no one would get it from us... We never realize that it is very important to place our things in the right place not until we experience scratching our head and seeking them in every corner... Did you fin your money in the end?

No. But I found it just at the right time when that thing that I wanted to buy was on sale. I think that was fate telling me not to spend that money yet and wait for the thing that you wanted to be on sale.

All of the time it seems I am constantly looking for things that are misplaced. To the point where sometimes I just wonder if some of the objects in my house are rather sentient. They do tend to end up in places where I do not remember them being anywhere near. Perhaps my mind is going on me and I am losing these things myself. Actually that is rather possible. Still the fact is that there are a lot of things that end up missing when I put them down. So, I have to go hunting for them. It is a chore sometimes. I guess it could be considered an adventure. It is a twisted scavenger hunt in many ways. Searching for everything time and time again. It wastes time I could be doing something far more productive.

And sometimes, we laugh to imagine how we look like when we were still searching for the thing... in the province, they believe that there are people we do not see who tried to play with them but I do not believe in that though... Perhaps things are sentient... but it's impossible hahahaha. We were just then very forgettable sometimes. I really hate finding my things specially when I am on the last minutes... it caused me to much headache... sometimes I thought it was a reminder that we have to take good care of our all belongings... You are right, it's a waste of time seeking them every now and then...

No, it never happened to me. I think it must be your eyes playing tricks on you, because you were in a hurry to somewhere. That's rather common to some people I know. The more hurried they are, the more they fail to see things that are right in front of their eyes. So, get prepared in advance. Then you won't find yourself in a hurry and unable to find things at the last minute.

Nice advice my friend... perhaps it because I am in the hurry always and I have little patience in finding my stuff... Now I am trying to place them in order... It's a waste of time always seeking for them... One time I was about to accuse my sister for using my pen when in fact I had it held in my hand... it's funny sometimes...

Seeking is the worst doing I've done. Never in my life seeking things at home. To aware on that, I organized all my things in which I teach and manage to all my house members with a policy of "where you get where you put".

Hi there Prime Aque! That always happen to me. It's because of my bad memory that I forget where I put things. Sometimes, I would see something special just lying on the floor or a table and I would keep it thinking that it's something important and I would have to use it sometime and when that sometime comes, I can't find it anymore because I forgot where I kept it. Another thing is that my room is messy most of the time.

Hahahaha, yes, it's about our memory sometimes nanayangel... It happens to me that many time too. I'll kept things but when the time comes I have to need it, I could not find it anymore... and it would appear if I never expect it again... And like you, it would specially happen if my room is messy... or if my Jessa or my sister would arrange my things...

Yeah, that's quite common for me as well. Usually, the more you try to seek something, the more difficult it seems to find it since you are too concentrated on finding the item and can't maintain a calm mind to search the place thoroughly. However, the next day or next few days, you may find the item in the least expected place.
