Do you often stay up late at night?

In front of computer late at night - This is what late night browsing on your computer will do to you... you start falling asleep.

Due to large amounts of work (being a university student), I frequently have to stay up late to be able to finish all of the work that I'm supposed to do. Just a couple of days ago I had to pull an all-nighter to finish my term report that was due the next day at noon. I'm guessing things like these can be avoided if I had spread out the work more evenly, but what about you? Do you often stay up late at night doing some thing or other? For me it's school work, but what keeps you up?

My Lot used to keep me up late. I used to be here the whole night. But at that time I did not have anything to do in the day time. So I would sleep long. Now I am going back to school. For me it is late all ready. I am going to sleep now. Good night everyone. Happy My lotting.

Haha good night to you too, and I hope you sleep well! It's still afternoon where I live so I'm perfectly awake. Perhaps you should try myLotting at a certain time during the day when you have time and it's not so late? I find that a time like right after dinner helps.

Okay good idea. Well if you are still awake, I wish you good night. I am awake now and I have to go to school in 10 min. Till next time. hehehe that sounds so silly. I am 43 years old and I am going to school. hehehehe But it is true I am. Because of my back problems I need to get me a job and learn German. Well, does make me feel young again. hehehehehe

I'm up late because I can't sleep. I get very tired but I can't fall asleep. I've tried changing my diet and exercise routine, sticking to a schedule, herbs, everything and nothing works. I slept better when I had a job but I haven't had a job for over a year, there just aren't any here.

I've always had trouble sleeping, since I was born. When the other babies were sleeping I was screaming. Yet, I'm not really a night owl. Most weekdays I get up and pretend I have a job. I dress nicely and sit down to the computer to do my article writing, take a lunch break and end at 4:30 when the dogs clamor for their dinner. I don't exercise before bedtime, I try to do it on my lunch break, what I can do--not much because of my arthritis (which also keeps me up at night). I guess I just wanted to whine a little!

I'm very sorry to hear that, I hope you can find a job sometime soon! Exercising right before bedtime won't work, because that just gets your blood running and you'll be more hyperactive right before sleeping, so you'll have a hard time falling asleep. Perhaps you can find a hobby you like and stick to it every day? Maybe something that can act as a replacement for a job, so that you can simulate your old routine.

Insomnia - Life is something to do when you can't go to sleep.
I used to stay up pretty late into the night every night. Generally upwards of 2 or 3 a.m. These days though, I'm actually the opposite. For some reason, at some point last year I just started going to bed really early and fell into that habit. Usually now I don't stay up often past midnight. For me, it's usually just that I can't sleep. Sometimes I just find it really hard to get to sleep for one reason or another. Pretty much that, I guess.

I think we've all had instances when we have trouble falling asleep. It's good that you sleep earlier now though, sleeping early is good for you. I wish I had the time to sleep more, but my schoolwork keeps getting in the way of a good night's sleep.

I stay up late just two or three times a week. Mainly it's due to mild insomnia so I usually just grab a note book and pen and write some notes down about what is keeping me awake or worrying me and that usually helps. I actually enjoy the quiet in the house too and I feel contented knowing that the kids and my husband are safe and fast asleep in bed.

Wow I've never heard of anyone doing that to help them fall asleep! It's really very interesting and unusual, in my opinion. I usually just grab a book and read until I can't quite focus on the page anymore to make myself fall asleep if I can't fall asleep easily.

Sometimes, I stay up late because I work on my blogs, and because that's the time when the kids are already asleep, therefore I have the time all to myself and no other chores to bother about. When I was in the uni though, I'd stay up sometimes till 2 or 3 in the morning for schoolwork, and there were times when I didn't sleep at all the whole night till morning, until after I submitted my project.

That's what I'm doing as well, staying up late for schoolwork and pulling all-nighters to get a report done. It's really very painful, and I had to miss a class the next morning because I couldn't get my report done on time if I hadn't. And I took a nap and was late for my afternoon class because of it. Time management is really important, I guess.

I'm currently a bum and waiting for some process for an exam I am about to take. Since I have nothing to do lately, I use the computer late until night...or at least early morning of the next day. Of course, myLot is one. Also, my brother share the share computer. It's only at night when he gets to work (he is on night shift) that I have the chance to use the computer. I seize the opportunity to use the computer while he's at work. Soon, I will have a computer of my own. Thank goodness. I am excited because I won't go to war before being able to use the comptuer and I will no longer have to stay very late because it's my only chance to use the PC. Sometimes, what keeps me up is TV and I watch until around 2 am. But still, the computer makes me stay late so I stay away from it if I want a good night sleep.

I have not stayed up too late all that often to do something. Of course, there were some times where I absolutely had no choice. I had to stay up late, because the work tends to pile up before you know it. So, just one more thing, another thing, and pretty soon, its far past midnight. It is not something that I make a habit out of doing but there are just some times where I have pretty much no choice. I have to stay up late to get some things done. Boy do I regret it the next day when it happens. I might have to stay up but I also have to get up early. That can be a pain. Thankfully, I can avoid this most of the time by carefully mapping out what needs to be done and starting on it as soon as possible. Still, even the unexpected can happen to the most organized person in the world and I am not immune to this very unfortunate rule.

well yes and furthermore I am a night person and I do enjoy my peaceful nights in which I am working. It is really much more for me than daytime and that's it. I do love the excessive nightime spent on reading and listening to music, or watching a horror movie or whatever. Also I love meeting with friends or going to parties in night time its so much fun... :)

Wow you really are a night person! I actually like the daytime a lot better, but schoolwork and such always keep me up really late at night. I tend to watch movies and read books into the night as well, which probably isn't a good idea considering I usually have class the next day.

When I was in college I used to do the same thing, I'd be up til 4am either studying or just messing around with whatever I could to keep me up and then I'd sleep in until 1pm on the weekends and just took a lot of naps during the week when I wasn't in class. Now I rarely stay up late, maybe once in awhile when I had caffeine way too late or if I feel like playing a video game friday night instead of getting sleep. usually I am asleep no later than 11pm and I get up super early because I have to pretend that I'm a responsible adult. Okay, I am a responsible adult, but I wish I could still have that up late kind of schedule, its more fun that way.

What keeps me up? Schoolwork, friends needing a shoulder, music, conversations, did I mention schoolwork? xD I don't usually go to bed until midnight. This springbreak has messed up my sleeping pattern because I've been doing all nighters, falling asleep at 6 in the morning, then waking up at noon.

Yeah I hate it when the holidays mess up my sleeping schedule as well, it's hard to put myself right again when school starts. I tend to go to bed later than you normally though, usually around 1AM, although I really should start going to bed earlier.

Hi,Reichiru. I'm Candy, a nowcomer of mylot. I used to stay up late when i was in my college life. Being a university student, it always seems to have large amounts of things to do beyond daytime for schoolwork, test preparation, or chatting with roommates till midnight, or sharing wonderful horror/comedy movies with friends and so on.. What interesting and busy days! However, I'm gradually accustomed to a more healthy way of life after my graduation--'early to bed and early to rise' to better adapt to my nine-to-five fixed-mode job. If not necessary, to bed early and have a good sleep is really good for our health.

Sometimes I like to stay up at night when I cant not sleep. That usually happens when I have had a really exciting day and cant wait for the next. I either listen to the radio or write in my diary, Just hanging out in my room.

seriously I sleep like 4-5 hours a day and I dunno why. I went to bed like 12.00AM and fall into a deep sleep around 2.00AM. Sometime i just stay up all night and sleep in the afternoon. Damn there is something wrong with me. Every time i go to school i feel tired. When i can't sleep i will stay up the whole night finishing my school work. And reichiru I got an advice for you, don't ever finish your work in the last minute. I have seen many people regret doing things in the last minute including me. It brings you lots and lots and lots of problems, stress, pressure, tension...all of it.
