Making money with transcription from home

Does anyone know of any legitimate sites for making money transcribing from home? I have posted on Elance and Guru, but can't see to ever get a job there. Any ideas?

On mTurk.com there are transcription jobs posted fairly regularly. The main company that posts transcription tasks there is CastingWords and they're very reliable. I've also heard of a site called QuickTate but I've never used them...I do know they have an application process but I don't know how hard it is to start working for them.

Thank you for the information. I work for QuickTate right now. It wasn't too hard to sign up. They ask you to submit a typing test and resume. You also have to take 3 audio tests where you transcribe their files. The bad thing about this company is that the pay is so low. Unless you can type about 100 wpm, you won't make much here. The work is somewhat sporadic also. However, the worst thing just happened to me recently. For some unknown reason, I stopped being able to receive their files. I was typing one minute, logged out to go to the restroom, came back and couldn't receive files any longer. I emailed support and rather than figure out what the problem was on their end, I had been able to receive audio files from other places, I was told to create a new account. I did so, and several days passed with no response to my email to activate the new account. Then suddenly another email was sent to me saying to "follow the instructions and setup a new account," as if I didn't know how to follow instructions. I responded that I had setup an account, but I went ahead and setup a new account for a second time. It took a full 7 days to get this fixed and all the while they kept sending emails saying how busy they were and needed typists to logon. They are always looking for more typists, but they value the ones they have so little that don't increase the pay rate. Still, you can make a little money here.

It's sad to know that the pay is slow. I've also read forums that talk about assignments getting scarce nowadays. My application is not yet approved but I don't think I'm going to push through with them.
My worry now is my contact information. They've asked for referrals and I also placed my address in there, with no street address. Is my information safe?

I am not sure if I can make money from such a site... I am good at typing but we will also have to look at the punctuations while doing that.. I am not that good in grammar. There are few sites suggested here so I will try if it...
