I HATE YOUTUBE..more thank ever. ARGH. When google bought youtube and banned all copyright items, yeah, i'm fine with that. When some of my friends got banned/suspended when they uploaded copyright items, (actually, they didn't know they uploaded a copyrighted item) I pitied them and I didn't like youtube A BIT since then. Imo, instead of suspending them right away, why not give them a warning and just remove the video but not the user? And just recently, they disabled all those free video grabbers. I understand that because some free video grabbers enable you to convert the video in audio format. When I tried to use keepvid and keephd to download a recently uploaded music video, I wasn't able to get the video I wanted because youtube blocked it completely. I was PISSED OFF. I need the video badly. And yet, I don't have the money to buy what keepvid has to offer..who will waste money just to grab videos? And now, you can't even get the URL from youtube when you try to make a gif. I mean, c'mon it's just a gif, and they are still banning that? LOL.

lol u sound like u like to steal money from people :P. downloading music for free (where people SHOULD pay for it) is not the same as stealing money from other people but it is still not right. everyone does it does not make the it right either. i can understand youtube being against video/audio grabber sites. youtube.com is a big corporate body after all. and being big, they are a target for other companies or individuals for a lawsuit. if youtube did not do anything to prevent illegal activities, people can sue them and there might not be any youtube anymore and that isnt good either

Do I sound like I want to steal money? XDDD haha. rofl. No, don't get it wrong, what i'm saying is, I hate youtube because of their very unfair banning. And I hated youtube even more when they disabled all gif makers. Just like what i've said, i'm fine with youtube banning all the copyrighted materials because they have the right to do so. BUT they should not ban members just like that. My point is, REMOVE the video, BUT NOT THE USER. Warn them..but if they still upload copyrighted materials, that's the right time to ban them.

I think YouTube has every right to ban and suspend whoever and whatever they think is threatening the integrity of their company. The reason they ban users who upload copyrighted material is because they have been previously sued by the copyright holders. You say they should just give a warning, but a large portion of YouTube users don't take warnings seriously. They don't even take banning seriously enough. They create new accounts and upload the material all over again. You can't claim ignorance of copyright either. ANYTHING, be it a piece of writing, a piece of music, or a film clip is automatically protected by law as soon as it is fixed in a tangible format. No big-company license or government document required. So if you upload something that includes content you did not create and do not have permission to use, you violate copyright law. I think it's pretty simple. You say, "c'mon it's just a gif", but please. Come on, it's just their company. It's their game, and their rules. YouTube is not obligated to allow you to download music videos or save gif files from their videos. That's not what they're for. They're there so that average citizens, filmakers, animators, musicians, and vloggers can have fun sharing content that they've created. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it.

i love your answer lol. i think at least they did not get sued. because there are too many people who upload copyright materials anyway so lawsuit would be too crazy. not that it can't happen. people can be sued if they upload some copyrighted material and unintentionally do damage to the company who owns the material, be it just a gif. so being banned isn't as bad as lawsuit

If you give me a link i'll try to download the video or whatever you need. I hate youtube two because of the banning of so called copyrighted items. I had a video vith 30k views that had music in it(like every normal video does) and they disabled music for it. The way how big firms treat small people is just disgusting. There will never be a fair system. Anyway give me the link and i'll try for a fellow thinker.

LOL ! You seem to be really Pissed about YouTube! Well, I think you have been in al wrong places to download YouTube files. To download them, why not install IDM [Internet Download Manager] in which Download Video pops up whenever I am seeing a video in Mozilla Firefox or IE. Also, you can give a try to YouTube Downloader - www.youtubedownload.altervista.org

Good tools should be shared. I have used Sothink Web Video Downloader. Very Powerful and Convenient! Just open a webpage, such as YouTube page, and Sothink Web Video Downloader will automatically monitor and capture the video in this page, then it pops up a small window asking if you want to download what you are watching at the time. For more details, please refer to http://www.sothinkmedia.com/web-video-downloader/ For download, http://www.sothinkmedia.com/download/videodownloader.zip

I use idesktoptv to convert videos for my needs. But, you have to pay for unlimited use. But, there is a free version that imposes a daily limit. But, if there is a problem as far as viewing a video goes, youtube is trying to avoid a possible law suit. They've been sued once so avoiding the court room is in their best interest.

LOL ! Quiet keynah2, quiet ! If you are using Firefox, there is a cool and great script for Greasemonkey (a Firefox add-on that you must install first) : it's called YouTube Enhancer : with it you can choose the size and the quality of the video you are watching, and eventually save it in flv. Have a good YouTube day !
