Definitely AMD. I am using AMD processors on both my PC and my laptop, and I am very very happy with my processors' performances. The systems based on AMD tech are usually cheaper and more viable. At least in my opinion.

i really dont know about it that much... i think a technical person can answer this question better... i m using a core 2 duo processor and its working awesome... i've heard that amd processor is good for gaming... but i dont really understand that 3d card gives performance to games.. and graphics also... both the processors have their own reputation...

amd cpus are good for gaming... so are intel cpus good for gaming. You dont understand that having a dedicated video card gives performance for games? if you dont have a dedicated video card then the integrated graphics solution handles the graphics. however this solution puts a bigger workload on the cpu.

I have always been a great lover of Intel, and shall most likely remain so for a long while. The popularity of AMD started when they produced a 1 Ghz processor, which they managed to do before Intel and acquired a lot of media cover and attention. The chips then became popular with system manufacturers because they could produce a system cheaper by using AMD as opposed to the more expensive Intel. I have no reason to criticise AMD, but I certainly prefer the Intel processors.

There is no need to criticize AMD since intel and amd is both wonderful.. but we are the same i love intel too.thanks for your response and opinion.

Both processors are really good. The two are the top chip makers nin the world and it is hard to determing which is better as they keep advancing their products to get a competetive advantage. My computer however uses Intel Petium and I have to say the processor moves at normal speed save for the startup programs which keeps slowing up the process. For me Intel is better and I would reccomend it to any one

right now the fastest cpu belongs to intel. Not to mention that a couple of intel's cpus support triple channel memory. However when building a machine you should have both a budget and a purpose for that machine. If an amd cpu fulfills that purpose it will probably be cheaper than its intel counterpart.

If money was no object I would always use Intel cpu's. But AMD are a very very good second choice, especially if you are on a tight budget.

I think that Intel is better because Macs have Intel ... I don't know about others because I've only had Macs... But that's only a good thing (if you ask me). Go Intel!!!

i think the most objective way to determine the best cpu is to set a budget for it. Then consult benchmark charts and compare the cpus that fit into that budget.

Intel ofc, I used to have an AMD athlon 2500+ and it sucks even for the time when I bought it, also I don't like AMD politic with the processors names, for example: they call the Athlon 1.80ghz - Athlon 2500+

Most motherboards are Intel based, and AMD may be cheaper but that results in less performance...
