It is very good that you are helping your mom in teaching computer. It is new experience for her.I think in spite of that you taught her how to check and send mails, but now you should have to tell her the basic fundamentals of the computer firstly to teach her properly. Then later you should teach her advanced part of computer's aspects.I know that u will do it.

I tried to teach my parents how to use my previous laptop, since their old computer was so old that it was impossible to connect it to the net. I was going abroad and I wanted them to use skype to get in touch, so that they could see me and feel assured I was ok. Well, my mother was a little bit more used to internet than my father, so they succeded in the video call, and they liked it a lot. I was afraid it would take ages, since my father still has a piece of paper with all my directions on how to switch the laptop on and off...

It is not surprising that computers has mesmerized even the oldies. My mom is 75 yrs old and playing computer games in the internet. During her boring moments she will just come to the computer and search for her favorite games. She even play the jackpot machines online for fun.

Your mom's so cool that even at the age of 60, she still finds time to learn new things and to adapt into these sophisticated technologies that we have right now. My dad is also in his late 60's and when he had his first time sending text messages to us, he was really happy and said "wow, these gadgets are so cool and so convenient on my part. I don't need to write letters using a pen and a paper just to let you guys know how I've been doing." Maybe next time I'll show him how to use the internet so he can also send emails.
