Hmm... I was told that the female has a flat stomach while the male has a embedded stomach. Try to check. We had the same problem when the godfaher of my brother gave him turtles for his 10th birthday. We wondered how to know what because at first they were like 2inches radius and until now that they are as big as plates, they haven't given us offspring. It was until I went to ask in the petstore did I know and realize that both of our turtles were male. Hehehe.. Brokeback mountain. hahahaha...

my cousin also said the same thing. my cousin's turtle had an embedded stomach when she got it. this means that her turtle is male right? what confused me is that does the embedded stomach of a male turtle disappear after they grow a few centimeters? because that was the situation of my cousin's turtle. will it mean that her turtle is female?

I don't think it would disappear, perhaps it dust grew wider but it's still embedded right?

My mom has 5 turtles! we had the same problem when he first got them. Gradually you can tell which ones are bigger and which ones have longer tails and things of that nature well the females are bigger and have shorter tails. Males are smaller and have longer tails.

I have heard that you can differentiate their gender by seeing at the design at the bottom of their body. They say round is female and oval is male, if I remember correctly. However, I can't confirm if the saying is true.
