Have you heard of frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis? I have a frozen shoulder. It is painful to move and I have limited range of motion. I am going to Physical Therapy. I do exercises 3 times a day and put ice on it. Funny, putting ice on a frozen shoulder to help it un-freeze! If you have had this, could you share what you did to get better and how long it took to get better. Thanks!

I agree it is funny that you put ice on it. I had a torn rotter cuff, I had to take shots, for the pain. I also used heat. I really do not know much about your shoulder, but they want to operate on mine.

Will you have the operation? I know a man that just recently had the surgery for a torn rotter cuff. He is doing physical therapy now.

I do not believe I will have it right now. I might consider it later on.

My therapist mentioned that I might want to see a surgeon, just to get a second opinion about the shoulder. I said that as long as I can continue working I wouldn't bother, but if I ever get to the point I can't work I would look into other treatment options.

I am not afflicted by that condition nor do I know how to deal with it .This is actually the first time I am hearing about it .I wonder though if they arent better ways to deal with it than ic e,I can understand the psychotherapy but not the ice .I hope you find a way to permanently resolve this condition

Thanks! I hope it resolve quickly too. I've read the whole process can take 1 to 3 years. My therapist thinks I may be in the thawing phase, which means it is starting to get better, although it doesn't feel like its better yet.

I had that on my right shoulder 3 years ago and it worked with therapy that lasted for a whole Summer. I just got dressed when I went to the doctor as it was too painful to put on my bra. The therapist came to my home and liuckily we ended up as friends because my health insurance didn´t cover all of it so we traded (I made jams for diabetics for her). This Summer I had the same but worse in my left shoulder (and Im lefthanded) and the doctor decided I needed surgery. I´m recovering and doing therapy every day. IT HURTS!!! The doctor says it will hurt just a little in 20 more days but I will believe it when I see it. Meanwhile Id like to cut my arm. Take care and do your exersises.

Sorry you had to have surgery Hope it helps you get better faster. My therapist did mention that they sometimes do surgery. Hope I don't have to go there. Are you having to type with one hand. I'm using both right now but yesterday was just typing left handed. Going to do my exersises right now. Keep at your therapy too!
