Why do you think Johnny Depp haven't won an academy yet? Is he not really good to have an Oscar? or haven't he had any movie that could showcase his talent for him to win an Academy? Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Mr. Depp... that's the reason i'm really interested on others idea about this because for me i think the only thing that lacks on Johnny Depp's career is the recognition of his talent through Academy (of course)... He's very famous, one of the best character actor I've seen who would play every character you'll give to him with different attacks, from the witty pirate in The Pirates of the Carribean, his heart breaking performance in Edward Scissorhands and even his unforgettable performance as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

I hope he gets one in his lifetime. I, too, think he's an amazing actor. But I think he gets skipped a lot because of the types of movies he's in. The academy can be snobbish and like to aware types of films that Johnny Depp doesn't usually act in. Perhaps if he did more dramas or movies like that, then maybe he'd have more of a chance. Not to say certain aspects of his movies are drama filled, but it's unlikely he'll win an oscar for acting in a Tim Burton film. Maybe if he acted in more films like Finding Neverland, the academy would take notice and finally give him one!

It's obvious that the Academy don't know anything about acting, I can't explain why Johnny hasn't got the award for best actor at least until now. He has so many wonderful characters, his playing is outstanding, it's the perfect actor, he has charisma, he has the skills, he can play serious characters and funny ones. I really can't understand it.

What I know is he had been nominated for quite some time now but haven't really bagged the Oscars yet. I really like his performance in Sweeney Todd where he was nominated for Best Actor in 2008 which was won by Daniel Day Lewis in his superb performance in There will be Blood, 2005 for Finding Neverland which was at that time won by Sean Penn with his outstanding performance in Mystic River, and in 2004 as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean which was snatched by Jamie Foxx for his performance in Ray(which I haven't watched yet so I can't say if Jamie Foxx really deserved it...) What my thoughts of these now is maybe he haven't had the perfect role or perfect time yet for an Oscar. or maybe he's not as good as the other actors who already bagged a couple of Oscars like Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Hanks and Sean Penn (among others)

Well, I admire Johnny Depp. He is a great actor and have seen his movies too. There are many actors too who are amazing and comparatively they also did a great job so may be this is the reason, others win. There are many to choose from and other actors picked up for academy. But Johnny Depp is really an amazing actor. He is a Great Actor, Director and Humanitarian too. His movies Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Benny & Joon was great. I just love watching his movie.

Up to now even the credits say that Johnny Depp is the person that plays that part in Loathing in Las Vegas... I still can't believe that it's him. He's that good of an actor for me that in some movies I would need to convince myself that Johnny Depp is really the person I'm watching... I just hope that he would really have a movie that would showcase his talent and win.

Well he is great and excellent actor who has not been recognized yet. He needs to be recognized and appreciated with an award.
