It depends. If you're talking about in America (where I live), the farthest off the beaten path I've ever been in Fonda, NY. Although, technically if you count it, I did make a pit stop in Lynchem, Georgia (it's actually spelled like that and is one scary little place). All I did was pee, and I was going to eat but I heard someone planning a gay bashing on the telephone and I was done. We just got back in the car. The furthest place I've ever been internationally is India. I went to a conference on the outskirts of New Delhi. They say New Delhi is a modern city but not so much. It was really hard being in a wheelchair there. Although, I want to go back if given the opportunity.

I have been to faraway places like Australia and New Zealand. In those countries I have got off the beaten track and seen villages. I have been to the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. I have gone off traveling to Central America to a village in Belize. I went to a lakeside village in Guatemala. I flew from Male to Gan in the Maldives. I adore traveling to different places in the world.

I stayed with some indigenous people in an island that they own (given to them by the government and off limits to tourists). We were surrounded by two very tall limestone cliffs so between the time sets and before the moon rises, the place is thrown into total darkness. We climbed up the cliffs where there were several mini-lakes with its own ecosystem. It was an awesome time for me.
