Tell Me about you travel experiences,(when flying in particular, but feel free to mention other means of transport too!)-what would you consider to be the best and/or the worst thing about your trip(s) ,and have you taken steps to make things go smoother after experiencing an issue? For Me,(A Guy)one thing I did was to buy slip on shoes for use when going to the airport on a trip to get around the hassle of lacing and unlacing my regular ones when going through security! I'm just back from a recent trip to the US,and next time I'm going to have to reconsider bringing a drink along with Me for as long as the current liquids limitations are in effect..Having to knock back several drinks that were in your hand luggage or have them disposed of by security isn't something I enjoy doing!

My best trip was when I got a cheap flight to Cancun in Mexico. Then I used local buses to travel around that area of Mexico, Belize and Northern Guatemala. I climbed Mayan ruins and went on an exciting cave adventure. I did some excellent snorkeling and saw nurse sharks plus sting rays. I stayed in different places like a tree house in Bullet Tree Falls and a thatched beach hut on a palm fringed beaches. Everything about that trip was pure bliss. My mobile phone worked in Mexico and that amazed me. Another great trip I did was my journey around the world. I had a wonderful time snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. I saw koalas, kangaroos, cockatoos and emus. I fell in love with the city of Sydney. I adored going to beautiful Kangaroo Island. The last month of my trip gave me some very low points. I got very sick for a week. I kept vomiting and I had ever such a high fever. I was weak after that awful illness. I had a miserable time after I fell down an open drain and injured my leg. I came home on a pair of crutches. Preparing to go through airport security isn't at all enjoyable. The rule they have about liquids is very silly. I like to drink water and it is not harmful at all. I have had a few things taken away by security like scissors I forgot were in my land luggage. The most stressful time I have had at an airport was in Israel. I had to queue up for ages when get a personal interview. Then they took me away and did a very detailed search of my baggage. They said sorry and let me go eventually. I almost missed my flight home it took so long.

I wish there was some consistency with the experience of going through security in different airports,so that you knew where you stood with the process..some have you take off your shoes and Jacket, while some let you keep them on,assuming you've emptied the pockets first..I'd read before this trip that it was possible to bring a drinking water bottle through security assuming you had emptied it beforehand so you could have the option to refill it at a drinking fountain on the other side, rather than have to go buy another one-I had the empty bottle taken off Me!

Jokers for flight attendants don't like them. I could've done without them the flight from Houston to Austin the day after Thanksgiving 1984.. I guess the hop from San Antonio to Austin was kind of interesting since the pilot dodged clouds the whole way...

When You say Jokers,do you mean like practical Jokers pulling pranks while on board that flight? Why was this flight in particular so memorable for you? What were they doing?
