I really want to know my roots and past of my family, I see it as a part of me that I have to know to clearly get an identity of myself. But does ancestry.ca work or is it a scam? Has anyopne used it? Is it worth the money? Or is tehre another way to find out about your family tree fully and properly without a cost?

i guess its not that 100 percent helpful unless all of our ancestors also a member of that site so they can give some information, but if none of them registered and only you then how will you gather information. same as other people search site, if the person did not register to it then we will not know about him.

You'll probably find that older family members can give you some information to get you started. Sometimes they might have old address books or mementos and photos they've held onto tucked in the back of cupboards I found this site quite helpful to give some pointers to the ancestors you're looking for. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp There are several other such as "Cyndi's list" where you'll find lots of links I haven't used any sites that aren't free but I think Ancestry.co sometimes offers a 7 day free trial? Good luck with it.... it can be quite addictive
