Hi soccer fans,
Do you watched the game yesterday between Barcelona vs Arsenal? Do you believe that Messi shot four goals in such a important and tough match. It is amazing. From last season to date, he is great. Do you agree with that?
In my opinion, the only thing he should conquer or win is world cup. If he can lead Argentina national team to get the world cup, he would be the king of soccer of the age. Hopefully, he make the miracle.

Yes, that would really be great if he can win the world cup for the Argentines. I think Argentina would definitely be one of the favorites for this year's world cup. Maradona would definitely be banking on Messi to perform at the biggest stage of them all.

Messi is indeed a formidable player, and I am really happy he plays so good for a team that I support - FC Barcelona. However, I have many reserves concerning Argentina's chances of winning the 2010 World Cup.
An argument would be the poor football displayed by Argentina during the World Cup qualifiers... It's true the mental approach is different during a World Cup final tournament, but that poor performance got me thinking...
Another argument is Maradona. I think he's a poor coach and he can make some really poor decisions during the World Cup.
Messi is only human. And humans get injured easily. At one point during the tournament, one of the opponent teams may decide on this non-fair play approach and foul Messi a lot. Maybe not bad enough to take him out, but when you are constantly on the ground from fouls it's hard of winning matches for your team.
The Argentinian are hot-blooded players. That may lead to internal tensions between them that will decrease the chance of playing at their best as a team.
Looking at the shape the main attackers, Messi and Tevez, are right now, Argentina seems to be having reasons to hope. After all, all teams playing in South Africa have reasons to hope (remember how Greece won the Euro Cup?). It remains to be seen how Argentina will deal with the problems I listed here as possible or with other problems that might occur.
It would be nice to see Messi win a World Cup, he surely is a player that deserves it!

A good comment!
As a football fan as well as a amateur player, i am agree with your viewpoint from the bottom of my heart.
In Barcelona, Messi always make miracles, but for Argentinal, most times, he does not perform well. The tactics and overall players profile definitely make some contribution to the differnce. In Barcelona, the strong middle always gives the Messi a lot support and Messi only needs to kick the ball and get the points. But Argentina can not give those support just like in Barcelona and needs Messi do more than kicking ball.
Turn to the coach, Maradona, the greatest player in my mind, is not a good coach, which was already domenstrated on the world cup qualifiers. Take for a example. During the beginning three of four time of qualifiers, Maradona rejected Higuain, which could be a really high center middle and riches the tactics. And with time goes on, Higuain was in and made great contribution to Argentina under the pressure from Argentina internal.
As a amateur player, i also really agree that most players can not perform well, fi he is fouled a lot times. At least it always happens on me. But Messi may be the except one, as he is great
As a fan of Argentina, Hopefully Argentina can make a another mircle in the summer.

Messi might be the number one player at the moment but that is when he plays at Bar . he never gets his best performance when he plays for his country , just see how Argentina has come to world cup it was a hard way for them, they almost get kick out of the game , i do not think Argentina can get anything in this world cup.

Lionel Messi,the greatest footballer on planet football.It will be great for him that age to win the world cup this year.He deserves to be the best at world stage.Im rooting for Argentina to win this coming world cup.With tevez,aguero and veron in great form,i bet its easier for Maradona to hold the trophy as a manager for the first time.

Messi is the best player of football I ever seen.. And I hope that he will be good in World Cup too :).. He truly earned that he will be good :)
