The last few I haven't slept well. I no more then get to sleep and I wake up again. So I get up and read a while thinking I will fall a sleep again but sleep doesnt come. What do you do when you have a sleepless night? Do you have any suggustions for better sleep?

When I can not sleep I come on here and mylot. Generally speaking I do get to sleep befor the need to do that arises. If you are stressed I would get to the bottom of that and try to sort it out, figure out how to destress if you can, or listen to relaxing music whilst sleeping to help you get to sleep faster.

i do have these nights once in awhile and the best thing to do is not to stress out because that just interferes more with your sleep. i generally get up and read or go on the computer.

I suggest you practice meditation. It works for me. It can also reduce stress if you get a hold of it. I use it when i feel unsettled and can't sleep.

It can be hard getting to sleep when you cannot. I think the reason for this being is that what works one night might not work the next time that you are having trouble falling sleep. One would think that it would be easier to fall asleep and remain asleep using the same methods but the truth is that trying the same method, it might work one time, not work the next and then work again. When I cannot sleep, I just lay in bed. I really hope that sleep comes for me. There are a lot of the time where it takes me a while to fall asleep but it eventually happens. I think that when I get up and do something because of being bored, it is tricking myself into staying awake much longer and thus there is no sleep done. At least that is how it was for me. So most times, its just frustration as I lay in bed, tossing and turning and trying to find a way to get to sleep as soon as possible.

Don't do, eat or drink anything that will excite you before going to sleep, like watching moives, drinking coffee and so on. Though it depends on different individuals, it always works for me. I usually do some reading before going to bed. Also, You can find some useful tips to improve your sleep on the internet. Here's a post that I hope might help you: http://heartofhealing.net/relaxation-wellness/sleep/7-tips-for-a-good-nights-sleep/ Wish you sleep well and good luck!

I am experiencing that right now. Last night I went to bed at around 3.30am in the hope that I can have a good night sleep. But sleep won't come and lying down on my bed fully awake only drove my brain into unnecessary thoughts. So I jumped out of bed and went back to my computer to read some articles and mylotting just to get my eyes feel sleepy. But the surfing only made my mind more alert and without realizing I had surfed till morning without a wink of sleep. Fear that I might collapse without having any sleep I quickly roll to my bed at around 6am. I managed to steal few hours of sleep. And now I am here again at this hour 1.48am struggling to make myself sleepy. I don't know what time I'll hit the sack tonight.

I have had that problem for as long as I can remember....I find that I go to bed and have so much on my mind that it's hard to sleep.....I try to relax with a hot bath or watch a good movie on tv or come online and try and clear my mind of all the things that I'm thinking of that keep me awake at night....I am also addicted to coffee so I try to cut out coffee drinking in the afternoon so that I can have a better sleep....Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't the best of luck to you and your sleep HappyMylotting.....

Last night was an off night for me to. I went to bed at about 2 in the morning and was still awake at 3:30am. I layed there and prayed to God and I finally fell to sleep. I normally would put to the TV on but they say that is not a good idea. I have heard having honey milk will help put you to sleep but I haven't had that since I was a child. I have tried to read but that doesn't always help. I think it depends on the time you go to bed. I believe If I go to bed before 2:00am I will sleep better. So tonight I'm going to shoot for 1:00am and see what happens. I know we should be going to bed at the same time each night for a better night sleep but that is not always possible.
