There are many many so called 'rules' on keeping good health - and some of these have been there for generations - like: after lunch sleep a while after dinner walk a mile, do not have bath after meals but have meals after bath, do not sleep on a full stomach, do not reheat food again & again, fresh cooked food is healthy stale is not, do not eat fruits cut open and kept for long time, etc etc. There will be many more which you would be knowing too- some are country/region specific too. Like here they say do not drink milk after eating fish!!or do not drink milk with papaya, Do not drink water after drinking tea it leads to stomach/digestion problems, etc. A few questions- first do you believe them? how many of those do you follow ? are there any which you feel are really worth following? Any more of these you know? let me know- Thanks

Hi,there.I don't believe health rules so much and I think it's really difficult to follow so many rules .Anyway ,it's not so easy for us to change a habit just for some so called healthy rules. But when I read your discussion,i find a interesting thing. It seems that I do have some good habits. For example,I seldom sleep with a full stomach and I don't like to eat the reheated food and so on.

Ya, keep it up- many things we do unknowingly or out of habit are really good for us which we never realise.

hi udayrao2 I do not follow most of that crap;, instead I follow common sense which is much more trustworthy. Ihad drank milk and ate fish,no problem. But I did not drink a quart of milk and a huge fish at the same time. common sense seems to be uncommon. well If I did not reheat left overs when I was doing my own cooking I would go hungry before the end ot the month. refrigerated food keeps for several days and reheating it brings out the flavor. If the papaya is very ripe you can drink milk safely but if its just a bit green something in the papaya's juice makes the milk all rubbery and usually it will make your tummy upset.Oh my gosh the do not drink water crap; again. drink tea and water and be just fine, it just does not hurt one damned thing. where do all these urban legends come from and get blown out of shape. use common sense, it is that simple. One thing I do know if you eat a berry called chokecherries there is a reason they are called that, they do not combine well with milk ,they turn milk into a rubbery mass in your stomach., you can eat them with water or a soda but nothing solid like milk. sometimes the person gets so much of that rubbery mass that the stomach will not digest it then the person needs medical help at once, usually the only remedy is actual surgery to remove that rubbery mass.
