Both of my children were named after people in my life that were very important to me throughout the years. My daughter is named Kathryn Teresa after my great-aunt Coot and my best friend Teresa (Reesee). She is really a lot like both of these women were in their lives. My son is named Paul Thomas after my friend from high school and my darling husband. I didn't so much think about the meanings of their names as I thought about the people that I had known throughout my life that had shared their names.

hi kenchi, When I was naming my little angel last year when I was pregnant I kept on looking some names with a nice meaning. I chose Megan before, but my mom kind of bumped in and she doesn't like that name, because she said it's too short and she doesn't like it. For me, my mom had a great influence on choosing my baby's name. I ended up choosing the name Margaret it means a big pearl. My baby's my precious big pearl, shiny white and beautiful :3

I have four children and named them all with something to do with my dad. He raised me and is my best friend. My son Enoch, my dad named him from the Bible. My daughter Eva June, is my dad's mother's name, Dakota Thomas, Thomas being my dads first name, and Alivia Kay, Kay being my step-mom's (dad's wife) middle name. I love their names and they fit them all. Think about places and people that spark your interest. For instance, were you drinking when you got pregant? What were you drinking? Can that be used as a name? Or have you been to Tuscany, Arizona, and things like that. Get creative and use your own meaning for a great name. I did and they fit them so well. Good luck and congrats!!

Hello there, thanks for sharing. i like the way you named your children. your dad could have been very happy and proud given the opportunity to choose the names of all four of his grandchildren. I am not really into common names where everyone has the same name as my child. We have been thinking of choosing names from the Bible. thanks for the tips and will keep note of it...

I have 4 kids and I got their names depending on my mood. My eldest name is Riezen, coming from the Bible Risen (king of all kings) bit I changed the spelling to add some twist. My second child is Quinn, coming from the TV series "The Sliders". Quinn was a very intelligent guy in that TV series so I named my child after him coz I want him to be really smart and intelligent. I know there's no connction to it but I just want the idea, lol. My daughter's name is Eloise Lynne. Sounds like Louise Laine from "Superman" but my sister suggested it and I like it coz the second name sounds like my nickname (Len). My youngest is Castor Troi, suggested by a friend from "Face Off" but we changed the spelling for troi coz it's also the acronym of my husbands full name (T.R.O.I.) Anyway you like it as look as your comfortable with the name, go for it. Whatever name you can come up to, I'm pretty sure it would perfectly fit your child.

We discussed our kids names at length and found names that we liked and which sounded right when using the whole name first, middle and surname. My sons name was chosen by my husband (I like it too)and I chose his second name(after my father),my daughters name was chosen mainly by me (hubby liked it)and her second name by my husband (after his eldest sister).

I guess that is very important that both husband and wife agree on the name that will be given to the baby. Both parents are hands-on with naming the child.

First of all, congrats. Well, when my wife got pregnant we sit down and discuss what will be the name for our baby. Of course we have both boy and girl name on the list since we don't know yet the gender of our baby. So we both ask if what will be the best name. We try to name via our closes or favorite names that we have in mind and try to combine it with the other parties best pick name. Then we agreed for the best combination name for both gender. We also ask both of our parents regarding those name so we can have some comments and suggestions they might also have. Of course, our decision is still the final.

I did look up the meaning of names I liked, but it didn't give it much consideraton honestly. I just choose names that I liked, my first two kids both have names that start with an A so now that I'm pregnant I'm gonna choose another A name =)

I looked to the meaning of the name more so for a girl before we knew we were expecting a boy. We picked Jack for our son's name and Maddox will be his middle name. We didn't have any real reason behind Jack Maddox besides that we both loved the names. Picking a name wasn't easy for us at first though. We had to compromise a lot before we finally settled on his name.

and of course no one will feel bad about it that only 1 name was used for the baby... grand parents would always love to be remembered with their grand children's names. Thanks for sharing. So what is the name of your child? would you like to share it with us? Thanks for the share and have a great day.
