How do you handle this?

A cop shouted at a driver who was driving at nite with the headlights off,he shouted ‘stop,stop stop,your headlights are not working In response the driver shouted ,”move out of the way ,out of the way the brakes are not working either”

Is that a real story? If not, I could see it being just a joke, but if it is true then hopefully the car got stopped safely somehow! That is scary to think of cars around town not being able to stop. I knew a lady who's aunt was driving on the highway and the gas stuck and she couldn't brake and actually ended up dying. Sad story :( I hope that everyone's brakes work!

byola hi oh my well let me see I remember when I was in my teens we were coming down some switchbacks in Yellowstone park when the brakes went out on our car. a truck driver yelled at my day,did your brakes give out and my dad yelled yes so the truck driver pulled in front of our car and thus we got down the mountain onto the flat. maybe the cop has a way to slowdown a car without brakes by getting infront with his police car.
