Has anyone made use of this feature of facebook, so that they could send people directly to their profile page, from any browser?

I used it as soon as I was able to and it was very easy to use, and it makes it easier to show people where my page on Facebook is, which is excellent!

Yes I agree, the old long link was a pain to give to people, this one is so much better.

I've considered using this feature, but I've ended up quite frustrated every time that I try to do it. I think that it is awesome that there is this feature available as it is a great tool for people that own their own businesses. At this point in time I am trying everything that I can to to build my fledgling business and to have access to a larger variety of potential customers would be a great tool for me to have access to.

I am not using the feauture yet. I remember this function in the friendster too, and i am not using it either. I don't know why i don't use it. Maybe because i think most people will prefer to come to my facebook using a link instead of typing it, so i think it doesn't matter what the url is. But well, it maybe pretty cool if i use it.
