Just Heard That Bret Michaels Has Suffered A Brain Hemorrhage :-(

hi jane, i just viewed their music videos and i found it noisy. i apologize for this. i am not so fond of rock. but they are great. i am still praying for his speedy recovery. hows the weekend.

I'm sorry about that Winky. After I told you about them I realised that rock isn't your music, I do apologise. I'm a bit of a Rock Chick, especially during the 1980s. Just like bopping around and having a good time. Sometimes I miss it but we all have to move on don't we my friend. I was just so shocked to learn how ill Bret Michaels was (and still is) unfortunately. Thanks for your prayers, it's much appreciated. My weekend was fine thank you. Didn't do much but at least it's warming up at last!

That's is a good question. I have not seen any real glam bands these days anymore. I think the Emo scene is still ruling the roost. The ones that are still around have defiantly left the glam image behind them. I know in my day I used to dress a bit glam the odd time when we were going out cause it used to attract the girls Maybe there will be a glam revival one day Rock seems to come and go in waves with its popularity.

So do I. Oh I used to love the Poison videos on the telly...very good indeed! Men could wear virtually what they wanted then...is the Glam Rock scene still around..I mean, new bands as such? I do hope so.

Your last comment reminded me of a couple of guys I knew. I went out with one of them and I always remember his tight jeans and very unusual, white leather jacket. Very nice! His mate Simon (Sy) wore allsorts on his legs and no-one batted an eyelid in those days. We could all wear what we liked. No doubt poor Sy would get beaten up now for looking "different." How I miss those times which is why the story about Bret Michaels brought it all back, as he represents that era. I just didn't realise at the time how lucky I was. Do you know what I mean? Everyone went out and had fun, usually revolving around the music scene at a club we all went to. The nightclub also played rock music and - even now, it still exists and is STILL a dump. But we didn't care. What will happen to the place when Blackpool decides it's to spend some money in the area, I do not know as there is a new generation going in there now.

Life can be so cruel at times my friend. At least he is being treated. There was a case here in England where a young girl kept being told she "had a migraine" but she was so convinced it was something else (and her parents too) that she sought a second opinion at the hospital. It turns out she had 3 tumours in her brain which would explain her not wanting to eat anything and feeling sick, amongst other things. Not surprisingly, she was operated on immediately. She is alive and in recovery now but I dread to think what the consequences would be if the tumours had gone untreated. Migraine indeed!

I'm thinking he did hava a more serious case when it comes to the diabeties for him to end up this sick. Tthe article did not state that though.

I take it Bret had the more severe form of diabetes? Does he need insulin every day? Even really fit people can get it as I remember vividly our famous rower Steve Redgrave finding out he had it a few years ago. He was mortified at the time and needs insulin injections. There are two types of it over here but I confess to not knowing much about it. At least Bret has been raising awareness of it lately so for him to have a recent appendectomy plus this latest setback must be awful. I hope he pulls through too.

Yes, I do believe he has been rather active on the television lately. I live in the UK so have learned about it via websites. Such a shame he's now so ill.

Physically, he actually looks Ok doesn't he? Still got the sparkle in his eyes. I wish him well. Great band, Poison. So much glamour...took it all for granted then!

I have to agree with kedralynn here. Even though he's near your age, there's no comparison unless you're living the proverbial "rock star" life. lol I know a lot of people suffering diabetes, and all of them have been told not to drink and not to live a hectic lifestyle. Michaels' life has been wild. He was doing the Rock of Love on VH1 a few years ago, and it was a multi-month nonstop party each season (3 in total I think). Even though he "looks" okay on the outside, that lifestyle is probably just catching up with him. Even still, I was a Poison fan when I was a kid and wish him the best! Unskinny bop bop bop bop

I haven't read the full report about his work for diabetes but I was aware of the headlines relating to it. I believe he has had diabetes all his life hasn't he? Many thanks for your thoughts and prayers for him, it's much appreciated my friend.

To be honest, I'm amazed they managed to get him to hospital as soon as they did...makes me wonder if he lived nearby. These things happen quickly like you say.

Despite the illnesses he has suffered he's still got those lovely, twinkly blue eyes. I think the eyeliner is a mistake at his age though lol. Bless 'im, I hope he's ok.

It just goes to show that things like this are indiscrimminate, do you know what I mean? Not that I wish such grief on anyone, never mind someone famous. I hope he recovers too.
