Mother in Laws

I am just wondering how many of ya'll have mother in laws that you have wanted to chunck through a cement wall before. I do my best to keep the peace for my husband's sake but everytime I get around my mother in law I leave needing a latge amount of alcohol.. and asking my husband " how did YOU come out of that?" just wonderin bout ya'll..

hehehe i think more than 50 % daughter in law feel same around mother in law.I am not yet married but when i am there with my boyfriend and i am at his place,she constantly try to catch his attention and tries to control him in different way.I am not married and power struggle between in me and her has already begun

Wow.. sounds like your in for a fun one. When my husband and I were dating and we started living together we were renting a house from her (big mistake).. For some reason she got it into her mind that since she technically "owned" the house she could come and go as she pleased. One night I came home from work and she was there doing our dishes. She of course proceeded to lecture me on how I needed to keep a better house. So after she left my husband and I got into a huge fight and I broke all the dishes...We moved out in the nett couple months... I know it sounds horrible but he got the picture...and she never came back over to any where we have lived since without knocking or calling first...

Years ago I had a mother-in-law who was very difficult to get along with and who yelled and screamed at all of her grandchildren. When I was pregnant with our first child I told my husband that, if his mother every talked to our child like she did to her other grandchildren, that would be the last time she saw him. He told her my concerns, she ran her mouth but, know what? She was never mean to any of our children. Unfortunately, it took lung cancer to make her nice and, at the end, we were very close.
