When your typing your comments or posts and noticed a mistake, what do you do?

Well, I couldn't really figure out which interest I should start this discussion and then I thought that I noticed this while being active here in myLot so I decided to start this discussion here. Whenever I type my comment or post here in this site, I often commit mistakes while typing. Sometimes after typing my post and at other times, while typing and I immediately notice some errors. With the latter I wonder, do you also backspace every word that you have typed after the initial error that you want to correct or you just go to the specific part of the sentence or word and do the correction? Of course, you wouldn't delete the entire paragraph once you realized that the mistake that you did was the first word of that paragraph, that would be silly. Just a few words away from the word that needs correction. Do you erase the words, even though they are already correctly spelled or phrased, that you have typed just to get to the word or phrase that you want to correct? Just been thinking about it since, some of my colleagues would do that too, erase the already typed words just to get to the word that needs editing.

I do try to correct, usually find the spot, move to it and reapir. But i seem to make alot that i do not find till it is to late, then i hope everone can fill in or jump my mistakes. My spelling and grammar is not what it used to be. To think before 2 surgeries on my hands, i wrote qs9000 pages and did remarkably well.

Yeah, we often do that, especially when the error would make the entire idea in our composition really different. Yeah, most of my mistakes would be in a misplaced letter or a missing word. Still, so far, no one has ever pointed some of my mistakes which makes me think that they are considerate enough to understand my error as well as fill in such shortcomings. Two surgeries? On your hands? What does qs9000 pages mean? Sorry, just got cuirious

Hwoa! That sounds really complicated. To think that most of our work and things that we do would involve our hands. Good thing with advance technology and medicine these day, we can do some things about it. A quality control measure.. I see.. well, I really can't see that literally but, I now understand. Thank you sallyj!

Yes i have found everyone too be so nice. I have RA and my hands became misformed, the tendons came loose on the top of knuckles and allowed my fingers to pull sideways. Doctor put in artificial joints and reattached the loose tendons. Straight fingers again. Then i broke 7 of the 8 joints and put new ones in. QS9000 is a quality control measure to communicate proper techniques/procedures for all employees in a given factory. My SIL does such quality checks for the hospital/labs. So it is in most professions.

Actually there is nothing much I can do if i submitted my content. But i do correct my mistakes i notice it before submitting . Yes , i backspace if the error word is nearer to the place in which I am typing . But otherwise i go to that specific spot and correct the error .As we are posting in mylot , we should always make sure that we don't do many mistakes . Our grammar should also be correct along with correct spellings ..

Yes, editting after submitting our posts is not possible here, which should make us be aware of our composition. We should proof read our posts before submitting it since we can't take it back anymore when its finally there for everyone to read (^_^") Yeah, if we immediately notice the error, we could just simply backspace our way to it but, if the error just became noticeable when we proof read our finished composition, that's when we'd just have to use the mouse or direct that blinking cursor with the arrow keys on the keyboard. Even though I have been here for a long time, I still make some mistakes

My browser helps me a lot underlining those misspelled words, so I can proof read fast. When I find an error, I directly jump to it for editing. When someone does like erasing some innocent words too, I tend to show my disagreement. But that's not good, everyone have their own choices...

What would your browser be, Firefox? If not, then what? Yeah, that feature is very nice and helps you a lot when it comes to spelling corrections. Does that feature also help in grammar flaws? Erasing innocent words.. hmmmm, yeah, everyone has their own choices, I agree

When I am typing a comment and I notice that I've made a mistake, I will backspace on the word that I am currently typing and I will retype that word. However, when I notice that I've made a mistake after the word that the mistake is in, then I will use the arrow keys to get back to the word that was mistyped and then I will fix that word. Of course, all of this said, I am also still human and I will make mistakes every now and then.

Yes, I sometimes do that too without really thinking at all. Sometimes I'd just backspace back to the word that needs correction or just use the arrow keys to be more specific with the word that I am trying to correct. Well, mistakes can be minimized at best as we can.

If I make a mistake in my reply then I will just let it slip by...nothing we can do about it, but sometimes I add more reply though..I guess there is only two options about it, either you post another reply or ignore it and keep doing MyLotting. Happy MyLotting as usual

Actually, we should really avoid making two or more replies that contain exactly the same message. I think its part of the guidelines here in this site. So we really do have to be careful on our first posts as much as we can. Then again, the times that I was able to commit double posts was when the connection is not that good. Refreshing the page a couple of times gave me double posts (^_^")

If I saw that there is a need to edit on the sentences. I'll just the cursor or do that backspace. I would not delete it all even if I only need to edit just a few letters. I need to make fast comments and type fast so that I could earn more. So there is no need for me to delete it, for me to achieve my goal.

Yeah, its either the cursor or the backspace that we use to correct some of the mistakes that we get to notice in our post, hopefully before submitting them for everyone to read. Then again, most of the time, the one who reads it would be the one who also participated in that particular response or the one who started the discussion. Earn fast by typing fast.. hmmm..

Indeed! I guess we just develop that into a habit when we do so much activity here in this site. We end up proof reading our posts before ever submitting them and, since its in the guidelines to use English here, members, especially those who are not native speakers of the English language, would often be careful on how they would post their thoughts and ideas.

I will correct it if I see it before I submit it, and once I submit it, and I see it, then there is nothing I can do about it. The fact that it has a red line under it when it is misspelled, then that part alone makes it easy for me to know which words I misspelled. There have been tisme I never did notice that I spelling mistakes until someone had commented back, and then I see it, and I shake my head, that I didn't notice it when I typed it. Some of the mistakes are obvious and others aren't but I will correect them usually before submit it, if I notice that I do have spelling errors. good luck to you and happy mylotting;.

Yeah, we do try to proof read out work before we submit it here in this site. Red line? That means your using Firefox browser? I think they have that feature which is really convenient. You don't have to really skim through your composition and just look at the entire text and see if there are those red lines that you have mentioned.. does it also show grammatical errors? I really don't like to point out mistakes as others don't do that to my posts up to now. When I get to read my mistakes after my comment has already been posted, I feel a little irritated but, there is nothing to do about it anymore though. We just have to be careful most of the time

ypyanyan We just have to be careful most of the time when we share our thoughts and ideas here in this site. Whenever we try to be active here with our participation, it would be good if we practice such guidelines so that we would get accustomed until, we just do it naturally and with ease. Thanks for posting!

yes, i wanted to delete it or edit after i found mistakes in my discussions or response..but i could not really do it.. So next time before i post it i review my post..but sometimes i do not review anymore... If i found mistakes, i just tell myself they will still understand what i meant, maybe..i hope they will find no difficulty understanding it due to clerical errors...i wanted to be perfect everytime i post a respond or discussion what i do sometimes is make comment on my discussion and clear the point that was mistakenly inputted...

Indeed, I think if an edit feature was available here in this site, a lot of members would be very happy to finally correct their posts if ever they spot mistakes. Then again, that would make us too reliant on it that we don't initially take care when we post our comments, I guess. Me too, sometimes I don't really proof read my work, especially when I need to do something, perhaps I am in a hurry or I simply think that I don't need to correct anything at all but, later find out that I should've checked my composition before submitting. Yeah, most members here are pretty nice and they would understand what we really tried to imply in our posts even if they would contain some mistakes. I also do that, point out my own mistakes if ever I am already responding to a given comment on my post.
