Blushing in the face result when the skin changes from its normal color to something reddish or pinkish out of embarrassment or humiliated. In some situation it could easily be manifested when you are being tease when your admirer pass by, talk to you or simply smile, or when one feel excited and other things which makes the face more reddish than just rose cheek. I just wonder if blushing occur too to those colored people or those with dark skin or it is only limited to white or fair skin people? No offense to colored people, just curious...Do your face blush? What makes you blush? How would you know they blush? Do you think thy blush too? What do you think so? Kindly shares your thoughts. Thanks. 4-26-10 13:54

I guess majority of us do blush.. IT's only a matter of visibility for others.. haha =D I guess it all boils down to how much we are blushing, and the skin tone of each individual does not really make much difference though.. After all, red will still be red, under every color.. haha =D Just like sunburn, regardless of one is tanned or fair, the redness is there for all to see.. Bright and clear.. hehe

I agree..because it have connection with what one felt due to emotion. Some are sensitive in some issues while others just chew it and bite it. By the way blushing is a natural process and i think their is nothing wrong with asking this kind of question, some disagree with me..now it make me blush... lol..and all is equal irregardless of color and so some blush while others are not..

Oh, black people also blush and if you really pay attention you will see it. They are less noticeable because of the darker pigment. I have been known to blush, yes. Most people blush to some degree at some time. It was worse when I was younger and very shy but now not so bad.

hi celticeagle, Oh, i see i must focus now to look at them since i really could not see somehow how they blush but now i know all people blush irregardless of races. it is a natural reaction when felt humiliated. Somehow it is less noticeable with the melanin of the skin color it hides the color of blushes but it could be notice with their reaction , gestures, eye movement or even with the way they talk. thanks.

Everyone has the capacity to blush but to some people, it isn't obvious because of the color of their skin. We were also taught in school to be really observant with dark-skinned people for changes in skin color such as when they have turned pale due to shock, or blood loss because it may not be noticeable . There are areas where you should look because that is where those changes manifest more clearly.

hi theressaiaza, Very true and it is good to be observant of any people since not all those signs you mention is visible and one need to look not only on the face color but also with the facial reaction, body reflexes and so on. thanks.

yes, of course as blushing occur when you feel embarrass and it is also reflected in the facial movement, gestures and reflexes not just the color. Those with fair skin is is noticeable while those with darker skin they also blush but the red color is slightly visible unlike those with fair skin.

hi janea, very true blushing is not only manifested by reddening of the face alone and all the factors you mention is also included which are the signs to identify as quickly if the person is blushing or react to the person whom he talk or what he see. thanks.

Here is a quote by a famous American author, Mark Twain. "Man is the only animal that can blush, or needs to." All people blush. Their capillaries dilate, they open up, and more blood rushes into the skin where that happens. In darker people it may not be as noticeable, or it might. I would depend on their underlying skin tone. All people are capable of being flattered or embarrassed and all people can and do blush.

hi gardengerty, that is a good explanation on your part. it is now steel clear all humans blush irregardless of races and in other people they are less noticeable because it is cover up by their darker skin, All have capable of reacting and the result therefore is blushing a natural reaction to having the feeling of being embarrass or out of being shy.thanks.

As far as i know blushing and skin colour have no relationship. Whites blush just as much as blacks or coloured. Its a inherent nature rather than physical.

Everyone blushes, it simply depends on your skin pigment as to how visable it is. I am white and when I "blush" you can hardly tell, especially in the summer because I have a very olive skin tone that does not show the blushing. But my sister on the other hand has very fair skin and the least little thing will cause her to turn just a rosey.

hi sleepyrose, I guess it really depend on the manner it exist since some people in just slight teasing they could be blushing is instantly visible and so their is hard to escape an alibi that one is not affected of the other friend statement especially when one is in front of her crush she could not manage to hide her cheek getting reddish. While in your case it is hardly noticeable as you already mention it may have something to do with the skin tone. thanks for your input on this matter.

I think all people blush- when you blush you feel a kind of rush in your cheeks, right? I have darker-complexioned friends that say they feel that. I've also seen some dark-complexioned people "blush"- it doesn't look like the pink/redness that light-complexioned people get but there is certainly a little change in the skin tone.

hi olisaur, That right it is a sudden rush of the urge like a blood flow is accumulated on the face causing the blushing and it tend to occur if something about the person sensitivity is being notice or it just comes as a result of shyness or embarrassing situation and any races experience the same things. thanks for responding.

yeah, they also blush it is a natural process and i think all people blush and it is not only noticeable to those with dark skin. though some may be upset since it may sound quite insulting if you are going to ask if they blush. Well, it is a very natural and lot of people may have the natural tendency to blush while to others it may not be visible. it also depending to the skin tone and the normal reaction.

i know what u seek. yes absolutely undeniably yes. i was told by my white co works that i turned red. one told me that when i walked in on her using the bath room that my face turned red. i didnt believe her. i saw this girl that was my complexion turned a hot pink. isee my face in the mirror turn red. i have pictures to prove it. since then i see black people blush often because i am more obervant. i can tell u a lot more. time will not allow me to tell. thats for this site. because a lot of blacks dont know what blushing is. or they r a fraid to comment. one more incident,i saw this light skinned woman cheeks and nosed turn reddish pink when a guy was talking to her of a mature subject matter. her cheeks and nosed stayed that way for more than 20 min. it one of two reasons people dont see black people blush, either they r not around them enogh or they r not observant. because it does happen. some time their nose turn reddish purple when they r talking to a guy they find attractive. i can tell u a lot more. i hpoe this answers a lot of ur questions.u cam emaial me at Dstarksb@aol.com for more questions. i have the answers.

hi misters2, Good things you mention those important basis that it is very true all blushes irregardless different complexion. It is really clear that making an observation rather than a plain guessing is better for anyone to make a statement before making a false assumption which just a mean to verify thing that sometimes lead to other to ask a inquiry because of curiosity. I am so glad you come out with those observation makes me somehow vindicated for making a discussion where others object on it even it could be a mature discourse on the subject. Somehow need scientific basis but a keen observation may suffice too. Thanks for responding. Have a nice day!

I have a friend she is morena. Whenever she is blushing it shows on her face. The red cheek is really distinctive even if she is morena or have a brown color. I can easily see on her cheek because the blood goes there so it is still distinctive. I don't know to those really have a black color. Maybe we can't see their blushing because the color is black.

hi greychunny, Now, based on your statement it is an added proof anyone is capable of blushing which could happen to those people who easily blush for a reasons the way it is show in their faces. Also if the reddenish is not visible one other signs of blushing maybe manifested y the facial movements or any gestures so it could be pointed that person is blushing. thanks.

It’s an interesting question...I guess it is not something I have ever thought about really. I would imagine that if a person has darker skin the blushing would not be as noticeable. I have a friend who has dark skin and I’ve never noticed her blushing before so she is either not very shy or you really can’t tell! I must ask her...

hi paula, Yeah, better and i think everyone have capability of blushing it only differs in every unique person, some are really sensitive while to others it is not totally visible. But over all all are capable of blushing irregardless of races.

I haven't ever given this any thought. I don't think black people blush. If they do, I just didn't know it. We all get embarassed from time to time, though. Basically, we're all colored. White is a color, too. Kathy.
